2011Zippity-Doos Review & Giveaway! [CLOSED]
When I received my package from Zippity-Doo’s, I was super stoked!
Why you ask?
Well, not only do I have the opportunity to try an awesome, PREVENTATIVE and safe shampoo and conditioner for my daughter. But, I want to remain LICE-FREE and not give those blood suckers a chance. If you remember my post about ‘How to Prevent Lice’ they were on my agenda to try out for Gabs who is school-aged and more susceptible to these pests.
I opened the package and was excited to see that Zippity-Doo’s sent over the works. A kit that begins with cleaning, conditioning, protecting and styling Gabs’ hair. The same kit that they have offered to give to one YOU, my readers, to protect your child from yucky lice!
Super exciting! Right??
Yes!
Let’s start off with a little bit of information, all of these products are Pediatrician approved, lab-tested, SLS and Paraben free. It’s all-natural and safe to use everyday!
It is available throughout the US in most grocery and drug stores. Here is a full list of the merchandisers that carry this awesome brand. It is also available in Canadian stores at most Shoppers Drug Mart‘s.
The shampoo contains Lemongrass, Rosemary, Geranium Extracts, Tea Tree, Ginger and Lavender. The smell of it is very gentle and aromatic. I can only describe it to be on the side of Lavender and citrus. It’s a very pleasant smell and lathers really well. Gabriella loves shampooing her hair and I haven’t heard any complaints as far as it getting into her eyes.

The conditioner includes Aloe Vera, Wild Cherry Bark, Avocado Oil, Rosemary, Tea Tree, Lavender, Lemongrass and Geranium Extracts. All which aid in repelling lice and other insects. I poured a dollop of the conditioner on my palm and it went on like silk on Gabriella’s hair. You can really smell the Aloe Vera with a hint of citrus.

After rinsing and when Gabs’ was done her shower, I finished it off by using the Leave-in Detangler. It contains all of the aforementioned ingredients in addition to Sage Extracts, I used it to de-tangle her hair and to add an additional leave-in protection from lice. I am guilty as charged for using the detangler for my own hair. I’ve also used it on her hair every day since, even on dry hair to help with fly-aways and of course to give her added protection when she goes off to school.

After I untangled her hair and brushed through it seamlessly, I added some Styling Gel prior to blow drying it. Once her hair was dried it was so easy to style and it calmed her mane. The gel isn’t heavy or overwhelming and it is absorbed by the hair really well. The gel contains Lemongrass, Avocado Oil, Rosemary, Tea Tree, Cinnamon, Wild Cherry Bark, Meadowfoam, Spearmint and Lavender. I finished it off by spraying her styled hair with more detangler spray.
Here are the results!

Supple, soft, shiny and healthy hair! Which makes for a happy momma and a happy little girl who doesn’t have to worry about catching lice because Zippity-Doo’s is on the watch for her!
On top of the great hair products, I also received a shield spray that can be used on hair but on other surfaces. I’ve used it on Gabriella’s backpack and the collar of her coats. Which I hope will repel them further. They are great to spray on helmets, pillows and beddings as well!
So, what is the conclusion of Zippity-Doos for kids?
They are excellent!
If you are worried what the products will smell like, don’t be. The smell changes dramatically after the hair is dried. I smell a flowery aroma with a hint of Lavender, while others have told me her hair smell delicious and almost like vanilla. That would be the only thing that may confuse you at first but, over all it smells clean and I am at ease that she is being protected on a daily basis. The scent softens and even Gabriella said that she likes how it smells.
I’ve even used it myself once to try it out and I love how soft it left my hair. Even how it smelled afterwards was marvelous! So, I definitely recommend it to any parent who is worried about their child catching lice and is looking for something gentle and safe to use daily. Especially when you want something natural for your kids too.
You know I wouldn’t say so if I didn’t use it myself!
