#Breastfeeding in Public: What Do You Think?

Share Here:

As many of you know, breastfeeding is something near and dear to my heart.

I thoroughly enjoyed both of my breastfeeding experiences with my two daughters. My eldest was my hardest experience, she had difficulty latching but–I didn’t give up and we established a great nursing relationship. While my youngest was a natural and she immediately took to the breast and nursed for a much longer time.

Navigating the modern world as a breastfeeding mother isn’t always so easy. Not everyone is the most supportive and if you’ve read  my experience about the criticism I faced, you know that I’m the type of lady that doesn’t really care about what people think. Whether someone felt that my child was “too old” to be nursing or that I should “cover-up” while I’m nursing–went in one ear and out the other.

So, yes, while I prefer modesty and discretion. I used a cover almost the whole time I nursed in public but, if I for some reason forgot to put my cover into my diaper bag, I was nursing regardless.

My daughter needs to eat and she’s going to.

I’ll refer to one of my favorite tweets on Twitter about #breastfeeding:

“There’s a time and place for #breastfeeding, and it’s called anywhere my child and I darn well please.”

Til then, cheers m’deres!
