Mother Day’s is fast approaching!

I’ve been celebrating Mother’s Day for 8 years now and it’s always so special to receive hand made art and meaningful gifts from my eldest daughter and to get pampered by my husband on this special day.

They never fail to make me feel special and loved.

Whether it’s breakfast in bed, hand made cards or a trip to the spa–it’s always amazing to be with my family.

With Spring making its presence shown, the lawn needing tending and flowers need potting. It makes me think of my own Mom. She has a green thumb and once Spring hits and up until the first snow falls, she is out in the yard or in her garden. I imagine that the serenity and the peacefulness of the silence, the feeling of the earth and creating something with her hands is something that keeps her going back to gardening incessantly.

Though I didn’t inherit this skill, I do appreciate the outdoors and the beauty of nature. I enjoy sitting out side watching the girls in the yard and though it may not be the most tailored one nor the largest, I love it.

I adore hearing the girls laughs echo while they play or when the breeze hit my face on the most perfect summer night.

Just to be alone in my thoughts.

Even if it’s just moments at a time.

Well, this year–I decided to do a little something for myself and went on a shopping trip with Hubby to Kmart and combed through the Kmart Outdoor Living section. They have a vast and large variety of outdoor decor, fancy, pretty and downright cute things that can suit any style or taste.

From Celtic suns to Elvis frogs, you name it.

I decided to spruce up my front yard and make a little sitting space for myself to sit and read a book, sip some wine and watch the girls play. You can see my whole shopping trip and the wonderful things that Kmart offers, here.

As you can see, it was in need of a little TLC after the winter.

I decided I wanted a nice comfortable chair, a lot of ambient lighting for those warm nights and a table to hold my cup of coffee or the girls’ lemonades. I also bought cute accents to make this little area warm and home-y.

With Spring just “springing” up recently, the front yard was looking a little drab. With all the amazing things that I bought in the #KmartOutdoor section, I think it’s looking up and definitely ready for the nice weather and to spend many nights enjoying great company. I can’t wait to snuggle up and read a book on my iPad and just enjoy a space JUST for ME.

There was plenty to choose from, especially from the Garden Oasis section. So many decor and gorgeous things that any yard craves! Here are the things that I picked out to make my front yard FABULOUS and ready for Mother’s Day.

I splurged on a 6-inch LED Hanging Gazing Ball from Garden Oasis, a Shepherd’s hook to hang it on, a solar-powered projecting table lamp, solar-powered accent garden lights, a Garden Oasis Grandview Folding Table, an absolutely ADORABLE Rabbit Planter with solar lamp and of course the comfy Garden Oasis Benton Sling Stack outdoor chair!

Thanks to my amazing Hubby who has great taste and helped me to pick out all the great things that I found at the #KmartOutdoor section!

I even had a little lady that got a jump start in enjoying my new little space.

It’s the small things…

The best part of life is appreciating the little things. They say that we should all take the time to appreciate the little things because one day we will look back and realize  that they were the the big things.

I can’t wait to spend hours reading a great book, sipping on delicious wine or coffee in the cool night breeze or watching my ever-growing little girls play in the grass and discover new things together.

This Mother’s Day, I am glad that I made a little space like this so that I can enjoy the small things in life and a place where I can spend my days outdoors longer! I can’t wait to be out in the dark when I have ambient lighting like this!
