Buddy’s Pizza.

Many of you know that I love to travel. When I travel, I love visiting the city’s or country’s most sought out dining spots to try a taste of what the city is known for. Well, a lot of the times, each city has their own take on a national favorite–pizza.

I grew up in Windsor and if you ask most Canadians who live here or used to live here, they will tell you that Windsor has THE best pizza. While I love it, I love trying different styles and flavors. While staying at the adoba hotel in Dearborn, we had the opportunity to do just that. We headed out and in about 5 minutes, we were at Buddy’s Pizza in Dearborn.

Savory, Crispy and Delicious.

Buddy’s menu offers a large selection of Award-Winning Pizzas, delicious appetizers, home-style soups and pastas, fresh salads, burgers and much more. I am a meatatarian so naturally, I ordered the Meat Deluxe. It is topped with cheese, pepperoni, Italian sausage, ham,
bacon, and seasoned ground beef.

For about 12.99, I ordered the small pizza and it was 4 large slices of pizza. I took half back to my hotel room to have for later and it was just as delicious after!

Our group ordered a variety of delicious food, from pastas, salads and all types of pizzas like their signature pizzas and even specialty pizzas that have unique blends and toppings like the DIA that comes with Motor City cheese blend, spinach, artichoke blend, capers and roasted tomatoes. It is served with a lemon wedge for some zing! You can check-out their entire menu, here.

Great Atmosphere.
And great service.

Buddy’s Pizza has a lot of history in the Motor City, it was established in 1936 on the corner of Conant and Six Mile Roads as a neighborhood tavern. In 1946 Buddy’s first introduced their famous square pizza — the first of its kind — to Detroit. It was love at first bite.

More About Buddy’s Pizza:

More than 69 years and numerous awards later, Buddy’s continues to serve Detroit’s original square pizza, made from scratch soups, and their celebrated Antipasto salad. Over time they have added a variety items to their menu which include gluten-free pizza, multi-grain crust, pastas, burgers, sandwiches and more. Each prepared just as they would have been in 1946 — with the freshest ingredients and an acute attention to detail.

I have to tell you, the buttery crispness of the thick square crust is incredible and the toppings are wholesome and flavorful. The sauce, which all pizza lovers know, makes a pizza and they got it bang on! It’s slightly acidic but, has a hint of sweetness. It’s thick, not thin!

Feel Good.

I love a company that not only bangs out amazing eats but, one that gives back to their community. They take part in charitable causes as well as their “Got Pizza, Give Dough,” “Sometimes You Need Some Buddy’s,” “Celebrity Signature Pizza”, “Dining With The Stars,” “Motor City Pizza Collection”, “Great Lakes Pizza Collection” and “Buddy Bone” campaigns.

They have Buddy’s Pizza locations in Auburn Hills, Bloomfield Hills, Dearborn, Detroit, Farmington Hills, Grosse Pointe, Livonia, Novi, Royal Oak, Shelby Township and Warren. I think I will come back to tried the baked ravioli that one of my friends had, it looked divine! I know that Hubby would love the more unique toppings available at Buddy’s, so we will definitely be back!

Have you ever tried squared pizza?

Let me know, til then–cheers m’deres!
