Things to Do in Vegas on St. Patrick’s Day!

St. Patrick’s Day is the one day that you try your luck of the Irish, even if you aren’t. Naturally, one of the best places to celebrate is Las Vegas. You may know it as Sin City and as one of the top destinations for shopping, fine dining and nightlife – where everything is larger than life. What many wanderlusters may not know is that Vegas is bangin’ on St. Patrick’s Day.

St.Patrick’s Day is a holiday where you can don every shade of green, drink green beer and enjoy the day like an honorary Irishman. In fact, in Newfoundland and Labrador, St Patrick’s Day is a public holiday observed on the Monday following the celebrations (March 21). Now, that’s dedication to the green!

We recently visited Las Vegas and had a blast, I can’t imagine how fun it would be on St. Patrick’s Day. For Canadians looking to get lucky this holiday, Expedia.ca has curated a list of four leaf clover-worthy St. Patrick’s Day attractions, activities and casinos in Las Vegas:

1. O’Sheas Casino & Pub.

This pub in The LINQ Hotel will be hosting a blowout parade complete with bagpipers, leprechauns and stilt walkers. The LINQ fountains will be turning green on the special day, offering a great photo opportunity for guests on the promenade.

2. Nine Fine Irishmen.

This hangout at New York – New York Hotel and Casino will be full of Irish flair from March 15 – 17. The hotel will be dying its famous fountain green in honour of the holiday.

3. Ri Ra Las Vegas.

Mandalay Bay opens early on St. Patrick’s Day and offers a full Irish breakfast, live music and Irish dancers.  Now that’s how you say, top of the mornin’ to ya!

You can also visit The Pub at Monte Carlo Resort and Casino on Fridays and Saturdays for live music, great food, and hundreds of brews.

All of Expedia.ca’s recommended four leaf clover hangouts are located on The Strip and are sure to bring out the Irish in you this holiday!

4. Bellagio Resort and Casino.

This casino is among one of the most famous mega-resorts in the world, with an elegant casino that is internationally renowned and more than 2,300 slot machines. Not to mention the famous fountain shows that are a must!

5. MGM Grand Hotel & Casino.

The MGM is known as the “No Limit Capital” of Las Vegas and the Poker Room is the Strip’s number one hotspot for Texas Hold’em, open 24 hours.

6. The Mirage Resort & Casino.

It is home to table games like Black Jack, Ultimate Texas Hold ’em and Mississippi Stud. Whether you’re a novice or a serious player, you’re sure to get lucky on their casino floor.

Just a short 20 minute drive from The Strip, the 50th annual Shamrock and Shenanigans Parade runs from March 11 – 13 and includes a carnival, festival and live entertainment.

7. Fremont Street Experience.

They will be hosting live entertainment the evening of March 17, including Dancing Irish DJs, Sham-Rock Rising and the Celtic Rockers. Time to get down and party!

8. The Fountains of Bellagio.

Like I mentioned before, the fountains are essential viewing for Vegas visitors. The free, choreographed water show has more than 1,200 illuminated jets of water and runs every 15 to 30 minutes.
