Alpharetta is a vibrant city in northern Georgia and there are a plethora of things to do there. Whether you are looking for culture, shopping, nature, or something new and exciting, you will find it in this beautiful city.

I recently had the opportunity to travel to Georgia, and we stayed in Alpharetta. What I loved about this city is the greenery (it was beautiful), there was plenty of amenities nearby and even more to do within driving distance. Whether it is heading to Senoia, or going into the city, Atlanta.

Here are the best things to do in Alpharetta, Georgia:

World of Coca-Cola

I am a huge fan of Coke Zero, in fact, I have a Coke Zero can keychain hanging on my keys as we speak from World of Coca-Cola. When you visit, you can experience the history of the world’s most famous beverage brand. You can get up close and personal to the 132-year-old secret formula for Coca-Cola.

You can see the vault containing the secret recipe, view more than 1,200 never-before-displayed artifacts and get a behind-the-scenes look at the bottling process. Take a trip around the world in a thrilling 4-D movie experience and try out more than 100 beverages from around the world. It’s such a fun experience!

Milton Log Cabin – AHS Log Cabin

This is the last FFA constructed cabin that is still in use in the United States today and it can be found on the grounds of the Milton High School. If you love history, you will enjoy looking at the furnishings and implements inside the cabin from the 19th century. The best time to visit the cabin in late September when the Alpharetta Heritage Festival is held.

Historic Mansell House

You can schedule an appointment to walk through this Queen Anne Style home to see the original pine floors, antique mantles, and period antiques.  While the inside of the home is beautiful, the gardens are even better with their spectacular views, gazebo, and arbor.

Walking Dead Excursion Tours

First of all, if you’re a zombie fan, you’ll love ATL. The Walking Dead is a BIG PART of Georgia, and you can go on a tour of the filming locations in Atlanta or Senoia. There are plenty of options available to you, and you will have a blast as you take selfies in the same places that your favorite zombies stood.

While the tours aren’t within Alpharetta, the location of Alpharetta puts you in a great position to travel to the tours in both Atlanta and Senoia. As a result, you’ll be one very happy zombie fan by getting in on these tours. You can find many by searching online or taking your own tour.

Avalon

You will love venturing through Avalon as it is much more than a shopping center.  While you are there, you can also go to the movies, play a game of bocce, sit by the fire pit or ice skate on cooler days, visit with friends in the living room, or make a wish at the fountain.

Webb Bridge Park

This park is one of the best in Alpharetta and you will love it there at any time of the year.  There is plenty of space for walking, running, and playing any type of outdoor activity.  During the warmer days of the year, you can play in the water feature or build a massive sandcastle.

If you’re craving BBQ food, you have to visit Smokejack. It’s located in the heart of historic Alpharetta, located in a charming 180-year old building that has served the community in a variety of ways. They specialize in low smoked, hand-pulled pork to moist tender ribs to their signature beef burnt ends. Make sure that you try the mac and cheese, it’s incredible and the burnt ends are amazing. Pulled pork is so tender, so give it a try!

If you’re looking for a nice day or night out, Top Golf in Alpharetta is the way to go. It is a sports entertainment complex that features an inclusive, high-tech golf game that everyone can enjoy. Keep in mind that the price is based by hour, not by person.

You can enjoy food and bevvies and if it gets chilly, no worries, it’s climate-controlled. There is music to get you pumped up and every Topgolf has such a cool vibe. Once you’re a member, you’re a lifetime member! How cool is that?

Another great day trip idea is visiting Stone Mountain. It is one of Georgia’s popular attractions and features a wide variety of family activities. It is 3,200 acres of natural beauty, adventure awaits as you discover interactive family-friendly attractions and many natural and historic sights. Make sure that you check their site to see the dozens of exciting annual events. As a result, Stone Mountain is open year-round, but attraction and Lasershow hours vary by season.

Above all, you will have a blast when you spend time in Alpharetta and you may find that you never want to leave. And furthermore, you will be having so much fun, and everyone is so nice in this area, there really wouldn’t be any reason to!

  1. I loved visiting the “World of Coca-Cola” in Atlanta GA, while we were there we also spent quite a bit of time at the Georgia Aquarium next door.
