Treats for Toys Results!
They are in, folks! But, first off, I wanted to send a huge thank-you to all of you that made a quick treats and helped a child receive a toy this holiday season! If you check out the Treats for Toys gallery, you’ll see that the submissions were equally as creative as they were delicious! I’m sure.
So, what are the numbers? Well, your sweet treats racked up a total of $40, 000 to help kids in need this holiday season and if you ask me, that’s AMAZING. If you’ve taken part the last 3 years, you’ve helped donate over $110, 000! That is why I am a firm believer that no small act is too small. It really can make an immense difference in someone’s life.
Growing up in a family with siblings, it wasn’t always easy to find lots of gifts under the tree during Christmas. Especially when we first came to Canada. The joy of having a gift to open on Christmas because of the generosity of others is something I’ve never forgotten and I cannot tell you how profoundly it touched my life.
Pay it Forward.
That’s why I do my best to pay it forward as much as I can because of my own experience. It’s part of the reason why I love the Treats for Toys program. It helps you to not only spend some time with your family by creating scrumptious treats but, to make sure that a child has a gift to open during the holidays. It really makes a difference!
Make. Share. Give.
If you haven’t taken part the last 3 years, don’t fret. There’s always next year! The Kellogg’s Rice Krispies #TreatsforToys program helps bring a smile to children in need by encouraging Canadians to make a toy-shaped Rice Krispies treat and share a picture of it on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook using the #TreatsforToys hashtag. It’s simple and don’t worry, I will remind you next year!
I just want to thank my lovely friends and readers that gave to this cause. It really is a great feeling knowing that so many kids had a gift this Christmas because of great companies and people like YOU who really care! The Treats for Toys Results do not lie!
Hope all of your holidays were great and blessed and give yourselves a round of applause for making a huge difference this year!
If you took part, what did you create?
Let me know, til then–cheers m’deres!
