No matter what time of year it is, there’s always a good time for a vacation. Packing up the car, packing up the kids, and even just hopping on a plane to take you somewhere new is exciting.

Believe it or not, in the summer, Canada is actually far from cold. The temperatures exceed 25°, which means you can explore the abundance of attractions in Ontario while you get a tan.
It’s also a great place to visit in the winter if you’re looking for some snow.
Regardless of the time of year, you will always have an epic summer or an epic winter.
The fact is that there is so much to do when you visit Ontario. You will never be without choices.
It’s home to some of the greatest outdoor landscapes, which makes it a very attractive prospect for those who are looking to sight see.
The possibilities in Ontario are truly endless, but here are our top five reasons that you should visit Ontario at least once.
1. You Get to See Niagara Falls
If you love nature, and you have an appreciation for everything powerful and beautiful, then Niagara Falls is exactly where you want to be.
It’s the most powerful waterfall in the area, and it’s worth a visit for the breathtaking view alone.
There are also tunnel tours behind the falls and if you are feeling adventurous, and you really want to be a tourist, you can get soaked on the Maid of the Mist.
Upwards of 20 million tourists head to Niagara Falls every single year, so you should have it on your list to tick off as you go.
2. Appreciate Midland’s Giant Silver Swan
Over in Midland, you’ll be able to visit the giant Silver Swan. It’s a wonderful place to start your vacation, right at the waterfront.
You can see why this small town is so loved and so booked out every time you look for accommodation.
With the southern views of the sweeping Georgian Bay, you’ll find a path winding its way along the shore and right in the center is the iconic silver Trumpeter Swan sculpture.
This is a stainless steel trumpeter swan sculpture and it weighs 2700 lbs.
It was created by Ron Hunt and erected in 2001. It was designed to pay tribute to swans that were brought back from near extinction thanks to the Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre.

3. Take a Tour of Toronto
It’s known as Canada’s answer to New York. Toronto’s metropolitan area is the 5th most populous in North America.
With a lively restaurant scene and around half the city’s residents with the mother tongue of English or French, you’ll find something that you love here.
There are plenty of tourist places to tick off, from the CN Tower, the Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto Zoo, and the home of the Hockey Hall of Fame.
If you’re a sports fan, try and catch a game while you’re here because seeing ice hockey at its home is just unbeatable.
4. You Get to Visit Ottawa
It’s the nation’s capital. You should save a day or two of your trip to visit and experience everything that Ottawa has to offer.
You can tour the government buildings on Parliament Hill, and learn about Canada’s rich history. All from the capital of the province.
You can even see the changing of the guard ceremony over the summer months. This ceremony is performed by the Royal Guard of Mounted Police.
The best part is that Ottawa is jam packed with museums and galleries. There are plenty of places to soak up some history and culture wherever you go.
5. Algonquin Provincial Park
If you’re an outdoorsy type, then this is where you need to go. It’s only a quarter of the size of Belgium, but it’s an official campground that offers 18 different sites.
Each of these sites are able to host up to 40 people in the summer months.
Everything is accessible on foot, by canoe, or by ski and snowshoe during the winter. There are plenty of seasonal activities.

From mountain and horseback riding, cross-country, skiing, and mountain hiking in the snow. Get a permit ahead of time, and you’ll be able to enjoy fishing in the backcountry lakes.
As you can see, there is plenty to do in this province. So much we couldn’t put it all in one post. For example, 4 hours from Toronto, there is Tobermory with beaches that look like the Caribbean.
