For real though, like any parent, the greatest gifts that I have ever received are my kids. They just so happen to both be girls. Let me tell you, I've learned a lot and I'll get into that in just a little bit.⠀

But, first, a little storytime.⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We were in Houston eating at a restaurant when I received a text message from Gabby (my teen) that Kobe had passed. I was shocked and I immediately hopped online to see if I could find a reliable source to confirm it.⠀
⠀
My heart sank.⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I looked over to @dchanz17 knowing that it would break his heart. His idol had passed. I told him and we both cried. Why? Yes, he was an amazing athlete, yes, he was imperfect but, he was also a father and husband. My thoughts immediately went to the thought that his daughter was with him. Later on, as details were released it was confirmed. As a parent, the fear that all those parents on board must have felt is unimaginable. My heart goes out to their families as I know their pain is also unimaginable. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

When things like this happen, it makes you really appreciate your loved ones. You hold them closer. You relish every moment. I know I do with my girls & they've taught me so much. ⠀

Like how much time you'll spend doing hair. How much they talk (and they talk a lot,) which I don't mind. You'll deal with mean girls all over again (yet those mean girls don't know who they done messed with), you go through all the milestones and hardships you did as a kid too. ⠀

Then you realize they become little versions of you but, in their own special way. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Be that scary or not! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I've lost count on how many times I still get asked if we will ever try for a boy. For reasons beyond our control, we cannot but, I want my girls to know that our family is complete the way it is and we could not see life any other way.⠀

What is your favorite type of music? Did you know that I've heard that some people don't like music? I can't go a single day without it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I can't say that I have just one type I like but, I love music from the Beatles to Bone Thugs N Harmony to System of a Down. Of course, I adore Queen and Michael Jackson but, can admit I enjoy some country and today's music too. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I do have a soft spot for the music of my youth too, so much to the dismay of my kids, it's always on rotation. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
