My favourite finds are pieces with history. 🌿⠀

As a writer, one of my favourite pieces is my Underwood typewriter. Darasak acquired it from a lovely lady who was an author. She typed out several books on it.⠀
⠀
Another piece I love is my vintage radio. We picked it up from the same street I lived on in Chatham as a child. As well as my rotary phone. Both still work impeccably.⠀
⠀
I also collect vintage cameras and lenses. The rest gives my shelves a little more character. ⠀

⚡HOW TO STYLE OPEN SHELVES⚡⠀

I grab my fave books and stack them for different heights. You can stack them high or display them vertically and use bookends. You can play around with colours or go more neutral, like me.⠀

This is a must for me and helps to bring colour and texture to your shelves. I think it brings life and warmth to any space. I love succulents myself, but flowers of your choice work too.⠀

ᴅɪꜱᴘʟᴀʏ ʟᴇᴀɴɪɴɢ ᴀʀᴛ & ᴘɪᴄꜱ:⠀

Grab your fave prints (you can find many online for free/purchase) and add them to a frame. Lean them on the wall and layer them with decor pieces. I have both artwork and pictures of my family. This is just half of my shelf. The other half has more decor, art, and pictures. For smaller picture frames, I usually place them on a stack of books.⠀

This is the most obvious but important tip. I have pieces that are important to me. Like a vendor 'love' ring that Darasak bought me in San Francisco, pictures of my girls, and cameras gifted to me. Decorate with things of all sizes that speak to you and that you love. It's your space, so tell your story but, make it your own. ⠀

One of my goals this year was to improve my gut health. Gut health improves so many other parts of your life like your skin, getting better sleep, digestion, and more.⠀

While I always try to eat plenty of fruits and veggies (I love big salads 🥗), I can't always get the amount I need daily. Who has time to eat kale all day, right? ⠀

What do you reach for during snack time?
