Seriously, @souqyqg made dinner tonight that easy. We truly feasted tonight, and the best part, no cooking for us! ⠀
⠀
Souq is celebrating their 2nd birthday, and we won 1 of 5 feast platters. It feeds up to 6 people and has something for everyone. ⠀
⠀
Hummus, pitas, fattoush, rice, and delicious meats!⠀
⠀
It was ALL good but, OMG—the boneless buttered chicken is to die for! ⠀
⠀
If you're in the YQG, do yourself a favour, and skip cooking this weekend. They have dine-in, pick-up, and delivery. Yum! 😋⠀

Even though I am still hanging on to the warmth of summer that still lingers. The leaves are starting to change, and fall is seriously my favourite season. ⠀
⠀
We packed up the picnic basket, grabbed a blanket, and headed to the 'burg for a picnic. After we enjoyed our meals and the waterfront, we headed to Vintage and Vinyl to browse and to pick up some 'new-to-me' vinyl. ⠀
⠀
Then we spent the rest of the night listening to the records, dancing, windows open to let the cool breeze in, and snuggling under a blanket. ⠀
⠀
Mimi couldn't grasp the idea of why D and I were just sitting and listening to music. I guess it's one thing that the younger generation never experienced. ⠀
⠀
For them, it's more of a background thing. We'd spend hours listening to records and CD's or waiting for songs on the radio.⠀
⠀
Music is so powerful, it always brings you back or helps you relive memories you'll never forget. It even helps you create new memories too. The weather is kind of like that too.⠀
⠀
So, here's to picnics, great weather, good music, making memories, and remembering the good ones!

It's the beginning of the long weekend here, and boy, are we ready for it. ⠀
⠀
Virtual learning has been pretty good. Mimi's teacher, in particular, has been really great. I think the kids are starting to get the gist of things. He has been incredibly understanding, especially for visual learners like her. ⠀
⠀
I won't lie, it hasn't been easy, and monitoring screen time has been a bit of a juggle. Considering they are on a screen most of the day and their entertainment is also on a screen. ⠀
⠀
In the afternoons, we've been going out and getting outside, jumping on the trampoline, and just spending time together. This weekend, we will be having dinner at our house, and there will be pumpkin pie! ⠀
⠀
Also, meet Freddie the Fox, isn't he adorable? He came home with us from @whiskeyjackboutique a little while ago. He's been a great companion during these different times.⠀
⠀
Mimi has worked SUPER hard this week. I caved and let her play a few games, and she watched a few episodes of Golden Girls with us. ⠀

How do you handle screen time?

You are worth whatever amount of time you need. ⠀⠀

This year has been a doozy. If there is one thing that I've missed, it's having a routine. I had incorporated going to the gym regularly, and not only was it helping me in my journey, but it did wonders for my mental health.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
I checked in with my Planet Fitness app (touch-free), put away my belongings into the lockers on the gym floor, and pressed play on my gym playlist. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
Man, it feels good to be back! 😜⠀⠀
⠀⠀
If you know me, I take 𝓵𝓸𝓽𝓼 of precautions. I was stoked to see that @planetfitnessca is doing everything possible to make you feel comfortable being back.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
The gym was very clean, they're social ‘fitnessing’ (𝓶𝓪𝓬𝓱𝓲𝓷𝓮𝓼 𝓪𝓻𝓮 𝓼𝓸𝓬𝓲𝓪𝓵𝓵𝔂 𝓭𝓲𝓼𝓽𝓪𝓷𝓬𝓮𝓭), and you see staff sanitizing the equipment regularly. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
You wear a mask in between machines and in common areas. Though, when you're breaking a sweat and actively working out, you can take your mask off.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
Even though we kept moving with PF's home work-ins this whole time, it was nice to use gym equipment and feel that burn after so long. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
The best part?⠀⠀
⠀⠀
I felt safe the whole time, and the gym didn't feel different. It felt familiar, and that's what I've been longing for. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀

We had a great time apple picking and brought home lots of apples to make goodies. I think we will make apple crumble pies!⠀

Yes, we will share! 😊⠀

If we have any apples left over, we will try our new dehydrator and make apple chips! ⠀

I never met a pumpkin that I didn't like and fall always makes me want to decorate! That means our annual trip to the pumpkin patch. ⠀
⠀
When it comes to fall and Halloween, we always tend to decorate more on the 'harvest' side of things instead of spooky.⠀
⠀
This year, we decided not to trick-or-treat but, instead, have a Halloween party for the girls. Treats, movies, and yummy food! Costumes optional. 😜⠀

We are so happy that this year we could still keep tradition and treat the girls to our annual trip to enjoy sugar-cinnamon donuts and fresh apple cider at @melegsorchard!⠀

The weather was absolutely beautiful and driving through the county is always a treat. ⠀
