Back to school season can really put a strain on pocket books and parents can often feel the strain that goes along with the expenses a new school year brings. There is the busy bustle of going from store to store for supplies, BTS clothes and anything else that is needed for a successful school year.
Just like the kids get the blues about having to fall back into a routine for school, parents experience the ‘Back to School Blues’ due to stress and anxiety it may cause.
What Stress You Say?
Kids want to dress to impress when they head back to class. But a new study conducted by Sears Canada shows that almost half of Canadian parents don’t feel very comfortable choosing clothes for their kids and 63% think trendy clothes are expensive.
And it’s no wonder.
Most parents spend $121.00 or more on one single back-to-school outfit for their kids. According to nearly one in five parents, back-to-school time means a bill of more than $400.00 per child.
Don’t Break the Bank!
This year, try your hand at trendy outfits that are $65 and under. That means everything from tops to bottoms to backpacks and shoes. Swaggin’ it out from head to toe! We have been busy getting everything ready for back to school and the girls have their favorite spots to hit up. But, Sears is always a stop because they have awesome back packs and one of their favorite brands, Nike, at affordable prices.
We headed to our nearest Sears at the mall and we were on a mission to find what my girls call a ‘totes adorbs’ outfit and their back pack for the year. Here is what we snagged!
Ready for School.
Gabby was most excited about getting a new back pack and lunch bag. A cute outfit never hurts either. When we arrived at Sears, they were running a fun promo for Back to School. They had a booth set up and were giving away popcorn and we were able to snag a couple $5 gift cards to use towards BTS gear. Not to mention, back packs and lunch bags were on sale for 50% off and clothes and shoes were 30% off. We were already looking pretty good for back to school finds and we had just got there!

Get Active!
Mimi was super excited to get some active wear! She is going into Grade 1 and she told me she needs to have more active wear because of gym class. Sears carries their favorite active wear brand, Nike, and finding an outfit was incredibly easy. Plus, with the great sales going on–we were well on our way to getting fitted from top to toe, y’all! The outfit cost under $65 and I did find a great deal on a Nike lunch tote for $8.99 and a Roots back pack for $29.99 that was originally $59.99.

There’s Still Time!
