5 Tips on How to Balance Your Work and Parenting! #tips
How To Balance Your Work And Parenting.
As a working mom and wife, I’ve also faced the challenge of balancing work and family. Don’t hold any hopes that it’s easy to do, but it’s totally possible. Moreover, today thousands of women try to reconcile work and family duties and do them successfully.
I think the main thing here is to remember that first of all you’re a mother and wife and then you’re a professional. But, not any of one them defines you. From my personal experience and experience of my friends (also busy moms), I’d like to share 5 tips for maintaining a balance between parenting, career, and marriage.
1. Get Rid of the Guilt.
Sometimes, there is a preconception that once you have a child, that you must now spend every second of your life with them. You can read from the love between mother and child quotes, that there really is a special relationship between a child and their mother. Your children will always be your first priority and you shouldn’t feel guilty about working and doing something you are passionate about. Not to mention, you shouldn’t feel guilty about taking care of yourself either. By going out, getting your hair done or doing something that you enjoy. We need to take care of ourselves before we can take of anyone else.
2. Get Organized
Organization is one of the essential components for working moms to be able to succeed. Daily planners or even productivity apps on your phone can help you balance your work with your family life. Just start scheduling your day and pretty soon you’ll get a clear picture of how your time is actually being spent. This is a great way to analyze how you can optimize it. It’s also useful to create a daily schedule where you can keep both personal and work appointments and maintain every task, even those that seem insignificant. This will help you maximize your time and to become more efficient. Plus, it’s always a good feeling to be on top of things. At least for me.
3. 50/50 Partnership
Marriage is a partnership that should be 50/50. You’ve chosen to be partners for life and that also means partners in maintaining the work/home balance. Share your household chores, prepare and make meals together and work on your family schedule together. The more you help each other out, the more organized and balanced your life will be.
4. Keep in Touch
With technology today and our devices, it allows us to stay connected with our kids anytime and anywhere. Especially when we aren’t together. We have a rule to check-in throughout the day or wherever they go. That way, I know they are safe and I have peace of mind. Plus, I can be reached at any time if there is any emergency or if they need something. It’s also a great way to keep up an open communication with your kids and that is always a good thing.
5. Have “Me Time”
If your time is divided just between your work and family you can often feel exhausted and stressed. Make sure that you find time for yourself every day (even if it’s 10 or 15 minutes). Enjoy a long hot shower in the morning or read your favourite magazine or book in the evening. Have a girls night out, go to the spa, get your hair or nails done, do what makes you feel good.
There you have it, these are just a few tips on how to reach the best possible family-work balance.
