Best Places to Eat in Alpharetta, Georgia

There is just something about the cuisine of the south…

The buttery, barbecue-y, smoked deliciousness that can be found on just about every table!

It is all that yumminess that makes Alpharetta, Georgia one of the best places to visit for southern cuisine. As well as being able to find other types of cuisine available around the world. Of course, it can be quite difficult for anyone to decide on where they should eat when they are there, simply because there are so many delectable options.

Here are the best places to eat and experience the deliciousness of the cuisine in Alpharetta, GA:

Little girl sits inside Smoke Jack in Alpharetta, GA with a tray of chicken fingers and mac and cheese, she smiles.

Smokejack BBQ

This BBQ style restaurant can be found within a one hundred and eighty-year-old building and they utilize the building’s charm every way that they can. Of course, it is the food that keeps people going back!

Their pulled pork, juicy ribs, and their burnt ends of beef are continuously brought out from the kitchen and set in front of diners at the tables. Everyone needs one of the Boylan sodas to wash their food down, and no one can leave without a piece of the Coca Cola cake.

A tray full of baby back ribs, and smoked burnt ends. With a side mashed potatoes.

I can tell you firsthand that this is one of my favourite places to eat. I think about it constantly and cannot wait to go back just to eat here. My favourites are the chicken thighs appetizer, ribs with burnt ends with mashed potatoes, and definitely the Coca Cola cake!

3 tacos filled with pico de gallo, pork belly, beets, and cilantro with grilled pineapple.

El Felix Restaurant

The only thing that is better than the food at El Felix is the tequila that seems to flow freely into each one of the cocktail glasses! The Mexican food at El Felix is extraordinary. So much so, that everyone may think that they have crossed over the border into Mexico. Diners love the hot tamales, the skirt steak fajitas, and the chicken Verde Enchiladas.

My favourite dish is the Tacos Al Pastor. The dish is tantalizing and makes my mouth water. It comes with delectable pieces of pork belly, grilled pineapple, thinly-sliced radish. I topped it off with their hottest sauce and I was in heaven. They have so many options when it comes to Tex-Mex, so make the trip!

Cinnabon Cheesecake at Cheesecake Factory in Alpharetta, GA.

The Cheesecake Factory

The Cheesecake Factory has long been known for its large variety of tasty cheesecakes. Though one thing everyone will be thrilled to know is that their food meets those same standards. Guests can order pizza, hamburgers, sandwiches, pasta, steak, seafood, and more for their main meal. There is even brunch available on the weekends. In addition to cheesecake, they also serve other desserts including Linda’s fudge cake, carrot cake, and tiramisu.

The reason why this chain makes the cut is that it’s not everywhere. So, many people have not tried it yet and if you have, you know their menu is HUGE and has someone for everyone!

Buca Di Beppo Italian Kitchen

This Italian restaurant serves authentic foods that include pizza, pasta, and more. You will want to begin your meal with either the fried calamari or the bruschetta. Then order either the eggplant parmigiana, chicken marsala, or the Shrimp Florentine. Every guest must have dessert before they leave, whether it is the chocolate chip cannoli, the tiramisu, or the gelato.

I added this to the list because of the HUGE portions. You can order a familly size or larger size and share it. If you’re in a large group, this makes it great to share and try different dishes all while getting your fill. My recommendations are the chicken parmigiana, chicken alfredo, and you HAVE to have the cheese ravioli!

Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen

Pappas, as this restaurant is affectionately called, opened back in 1976. Though the tastiness of their cuisine goes back further to the year 1897 in the country of Greece.

There are limited locations across the states, but the one in Alpharetta is one of the most popular ones. The locations are in Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, New Mexico, Ohio, and Texas.

Their specialties include pasta Mardi Gras, shrimp creole and grits, and either crawfish or shrimp etouffee. This made the list for the novelty that some diners would experience as well as for the seafood lover. Make sure to try the fried gator, it’s delicious!

Someone pours syrup on top of traditional pancakes with butter.

The Original Pancake House

This breakfast house has numerous specialties, but the ultimate favourite amongst guests is the apple pancake that is full of sautéed apples, cinnamon, and sugar.

The Dutch baby is puffy and golden brown, while the omelets are baked to perfection. It may be the crepes that people keep going back for though, as they have a large variety of them.

One favourite is the cherry kijafa with tart cherries and Danish cherry wine, and another is filled with sour cream and orange liqueur and then topped with a tropical syrup.

I chose this restaurant because while they have locations across the states, for Canadians, this would be a treat. For a hearty, homestyle breakfast, this is the way to go! We had the coconut pancakes but, really, there are so many options!
