How to Feel Safe in a Digital World

There is no denying that we all live in a world that is focused on technology. It is only going to get more advanced as the years go on.

Many of us wouldn’t dream of going a day, if not an hour, without our phones.

That being said, it also means that all of us need to have more knowledge on staying safe online and in the digital world.

This is so we can protect ourselves, our mental health, and also our bank balances.

So how do we do that?

Here are some of the ways that you can feel safe in a digital world.

Family Tracking

One of the first things to think about would be tracking on your phone. It may sound invasive, but this can keep you safe.

You could look into a family tracking app where you can all use it such as children, parents, close family, and even friends.

You could buy from Family Orbit as an option. This could help you track whereabouts which could prove very important if your phone or yourself goes missing.

This is when digital advances can be put to good use.

Privacy Settings on Social Media

Many of us are avid social media users, and so it is important to look at the security and privacy settings that we have.

Most social media platforms will have two-factor authentication to help protect accounts from being hacked.

If you don’t use social media as part of your job or for work, then having your profiles set to private can also help to protect yourself.

Scam Emails and Texts

Many of us are familiar with scam calls now. Though, some of us are still unaware of shame emails and text messages that can look and appear to be very legitimate.

Some text could claim to be your bank, an email could be coming from the tax office, and then there is likely to always be a link.

Avoid clicking on the link and divulging any information, especially payment info. This is especially true if you are unsure of the legitimacy and authenticity of the website you have been directed to.

In all cases avoid and contact the providers directly to ask as clicking the link could be a step in the wrong direction.

Troll Websites

If you are in the world of social media then you will likely know about troll websites. They can be horrendous.

While there is nothing you can do to protect yourself from them, you can avoid them if you happen to be targeted on one.

Using Protected Payment Options

Last of all, make sure you use protected payment options like PayPal to pay for goods. Most especially if you are buying from small businesses or auction sites.

These payment options can give you extra protection.
