Happy Mother’s Day.
Hello folks! Hope everyone is well & all the deserving mothers enjoyed their Mother’s Day weekend. As well as dads out there who assume both roles!
What does being a mother mean to me? Well, it’s not just about flowers or gifts. It means that I am absolutely and completely responsible for providing for the life I brought into this world. Not only for survival but provide emotionally, spiritually and intellectually. To shower them with love and discipline when needed, to teach them about our Creator and to teach them the essential lessons for them to one day join our society as intelligent and responsible citizens. Being a mother truly and utterly changed my life. I would never trade it for the world or change it, not even for a second because it is ALL so worth it.
The good and the bad.
Being a mother is about empathy, to give your life for your child or to be there to comfort them through scraped knees, bad dreams and closet monsters. To see them accomplish so much and become their own persons. Witnessing their special abilities and skills flourish, some naturally and others with hard work. The chance to make their eyes light up in delight or astonishment when you present them something for the first time. Seeing the accomplishment that they feel when they read their first book. Ahh.. The list can go on and on. And it does because being a mother never ends. So, every day is a gift to me, every day is Mother’s Day because I am able to take part in the

The list can go on and on. And it does because being a mother never ends. So, every day is a gift to me, every day is Mother’s Day because I am able to take part in the molding of another human being and I am able to share it with the love of my life, Darasak.
Anyways, I sure enjoyed my weekend. Hubby took me to watch Iron Man 2 on Friday w/ the BFF’s and the movie was pretty effin sweet. I cannot wait til the third installment. Then the surprises just kept coming, Hubby sent me and Peanut to the spa to get mani/pedi’s & massages too! It was pure heaven & well-received pampering. Not to mention our nails and piggies look fantabulous! I also got to spend time with my PeanPean & I adored that.
What did we do?
On Saturday, Hubby sent me off to the salon & I got my hair done. I kept my natural colour and got a trim & style. Hair feels much better now. I’m sure you’ve all had a point where your hair got a certain length and you couldn’t do anything with it and it was uncomfortable. Yeah. That was me. Not anymore though! Then on the actual Mother’s Day, I woke up to breakfast in bed and cards from the best husband in the world and PeanPean! We just enjoyed a relaxing day at home and it was awesome. I really have to appreciate my blessings and they are having the opportunity to be a mother to two beautiful girls and to be lucky enough to be his wife. He truly spoils me every single day and truly is an active force in parenting our two girls. He doesn’t just help he is involved in every part of their lives. Ah, babe! If you do read this, I adore you!
Aside from that, we’ve been enjoying our new little bundle of joy. She’s adjusted quite well & has been sleeping through the night since she was 2 weeks old. Now, for those who are babyless, by sleeping through the night I mean she sleeps between feedings in 3-4 hour intervals. Anyway, this is only relevant because it has allowed me to get a routine going. So, according to most fellow moms out there, I’m hella lucky. *shrug*
Anyway, us Canadians are blessed to be at home with our children for a whole year. So, I’m enjoying my time off most definitely. It allows us to spend the essential moments with our kids and to experience every milestone as they grow. At least for the first 12 months.
Other things happening this month are the girls are scheduled to have their portraits done this coming week & I can’t wait for that. They are both going to wear fancy, matching dresses. It’s gonna be super cute. Now I know why my mom used to dress me and my sister in matching clothes!
Man, we have tons of fun planned for the summer. Hopefully, the weather catches up & we can get the ball rolling. It’s May already and it’s still cold as winter out there. It kinda sucks but I really want summer weather now! Anyways, I thought I’d update a bit. Let me know how you all are and what your summer plans are! For now, farewell!
