Tips to Shave Time Off Your Morning Routine.

Let’s face it, being a woman can be difficult when it comes to getting ready in the morning. We all have our preferences of course. While some choose to make extra time for a longer morning routine, others prefer a quick routine that has them out the door sooner than later.

I happen to be a mix of both but, most days, it’s the quickest morning routine and go. I prefer low-maintenance almost all the time and dolling it up on occasion. Either way, with the following tips, you will be out of the door, fierce, prim and proper. If you want to literally “shave” time off your morning routine, read on.

Let's Get Started!

Establish a Routine.

Go to bed earlier, rise earlier. It’s actually pretty simple but, most of us do not realize it. If you are usually a night owl, try going to bed an hour earlier every week until you hit a sweet spot. Once you are getting plenty of sleep, you’ll find that your body will naturally get accustomed to waking at an early time.

Also, don’t hit snooze. That first jolt when you hear your alarm gets your adrenaline going, use it. You’ll find if you hit snooze, you may be groggy and tired for the whole day. Most importantly, make eating breakfast a part of your routine. If you don’t like to eat in the morning, make a nutrition packed smoothie or juice. You can often prepare these over night so that you can grab and go.

Lay Out Your Clothes on Sunday.

Every Sunday, we meal prep, make lunches and lay out the kids clothes for the week. It helps the morning routine and the kids don’t have to search for outfits. Why not do it for yourself? Pick out 5 outfits, hang them in your closet and in ten minutes, you are set for the week. If you wear different shoes everyday, pick them out and have them by your door for easy access.

Multi-Task the Night Before.

You can save a lot of time by showering the night before simply because you don’t have to wake up even earlier to get a shower in. All you need to do is shower, add texturizing cream and split your hair in half and braid. Boom. You have beach waves in the morning. If all else fails, dry shampoo adds texture to flat, clean hair and a cute messy bun or top knot always does the trick for a put-together look.

Washing your face in the shower can save time in the morning as well. Use a soap-free foam cleanser. Once out of the shower use a mask to get your skin feeling clean and moisturized the next day. Smooth on lip balm before bed and you should be good to go.

Moisturize While You Shower & Shave!

Most of you know that I am a HUGE fan of the Schick Intuition, what better way to “shave” time off your beauty routine than with a razor with built-in moisturizer. That means you can skip the shaving cream, y’all. With a pivoting head and four blades surrounded by a Skin Conditioning Solid™containing Shea Butter tomoisturize during shaving–you’ll have smooth and noticeably softer skin.

Get Your Lips Rouge Ready!

On days that you’ve forgotten lip balm, your lips can become chapped. Making your rouge or lipstick look cracked. After you’ve brushed your teeth in the morning, rinse your tooth-brush and lightly brush your lips to make your lips smooth and loosen skin if it is chapped. It will help your lips be super smooth and makes it easier to apply rouge or lipstick.

5-Minute Make-Up Sesh.

Firstly, find your signature day look and products that suit your skin tone and skin type. I find that when you use less tools when it comes to make-up in the morning, the easier it is. If you are having to use different brushes and different products–it can get time-consuming. To have a fresh, warm daytime look only requires a few steps.

Conceal your dark under-eye circles, the lighter it looks under your eyes, the more bright-eyed and bushy-tailed you look. Use a tinted moisturizer with SPF to protect and provide coverage. It will help to even out your tone. Use a light bronzer to dust lightly to give your skin a warm glow.

Use products that are multi-use. Try a rouge for lips and cheeks, fill brows with gel or pencil, a light touch of mascara and a quick eye liner–cat eye is a plus! If you don’t like eye liner, use an eye shadow stick to quickly brush on a shimmery eye shadow. The fewer tools you need, the faster you are done.

Your Best Friend.

One of the most time-consuming things in any beauty routine is hair removal. I’ve never been a fan of shaving cream, it’s messy and it takes longer to shave.

The Schick Intuition Advanced Moisture razor with Moisture Ribbons lathers and softens skin. It boasts an ergonomically designed handle, a pivoting head and four blades surrounded by a Skin Conditioning Solid™ containing Shea Butter to moisturize during shaving and help achieve noticeably softer skin.

I am going to be completely honest when I say this, it is one of the easiest ways to shave. I have not had a nick or cut in years. Years, my friends. I simply attach the razor with the suction cup holder onto my tile shower wall and it’s always there. I don’t need to remember to bring in my razor and shaving cream every time I shower. It’s there, it’s ready to go. Nothing extra is needed.

Another thing that I want to point out is that the handle makes it easy to grip to glide along every curve. A razor that shaves, lathers and moisturizes is genius. It travels well too, since it comes with a solid plastic cover–you can place it in your luggage and you can keep up your beauty routine wherever you go.

If they can make this razor better than it already is, I’d suggest that they find a way to be able to use up all of the lathering bar. Though I can be innovative enough to flip the razor, rub the bar a bit and then turn it again to shave. But, alas–it’s a great razor!
