Pink Rose Cookies

One of my favourite seasons is spring. Just like spring, new life blossoms. What personifies this very occurrence for me are flowers. So, why not make super delicious sugar cookies but, make them pink rose cookies?

Spring is a time for new beginnings and to start anew. That can be translated to so many parts of our lives. This can be planning to change ourselves, starting something new, and just growing after a long winter.

Spring is right around the corner and to celebrate that, make these seasonal cookies! These are great to ring in spring or to celebrate National Plant a Flower Day.

Six sugar cookies that are unfrosted, with a stick of butter, green fondant, red food colouring, and powdered sugar are the ingredients needed.

Things You Will  Need:

Yields: 12 decorated cookies

Step 1:

Ensure that your cookies are cool to the touch before decorating.

The key element to these cookies is the beautiful pink buttercream. To make, begin by beating softened butter, confectioners’ sugar and milk on medium. Increase the speed to high.

Add red gel food coloring and continue beating until buttercream is completely tinted. The buttercream is ready once it is smooth and forms semi-stiff peaks.

Step 2:

Scoop the buttercream into a piping bag, with a star tip.

Step 3:

Starting in the center, frost each cookie in a circular motion.

Step 4:

Roll 12 small spheres out of your green fondant and another 12 that are slightly smaller. Flatten them out slightly and give them one pointed end.

Green fondant leaves are being given detail with toothpicks.

Step 5 :

With a toothpick, score little lines on each leaf to give them a more realistic and texturized look. Place two (one of each size) on each cookie.

Serve and enjoy!

  • 1-2 tbsp milk
  • 2 small drops red gel food coloring
  • 3 oz green fondant

Celebrate Spring
