10 Things to Consider for Your Wedding Day

Like many people, your wedding day is the most special day of your life. Therefore, you strive to make it as perfect and memorable as you can.

Here are a few things to consider for your wedding.

1. Choose Your Bridal Party

Selecting your bridal is one of the most fun aspects of planning your wedding. Now is the time you can honour your best friend or sibling as your maid of honour.

You can celebrate your big day with your closest friends surrounding you.

When choosing your bridal party keep in mind who has always been there for you and supports your relationship.

Don’t get bombarded into making someone a bridesmaid because they asked or made you feel guilty.

2. Invite the Right People

Before making any other wedding plans, you have to create a guest list. Unless you have a rather large budget, you won’t be able to invite everyone.

Of course, you have the parents and relatives but take time to really consider who you really want to share your special day with.

There’s no need to invite friends you haven’t talked to in years or those that may cause a scene regardless of their tie to you.

The guest list will help you choose the right venue and budget for everything else.

Ensure you send the wedding invitations in advance, to give the guests enough time to clear the calendars.

3. Have a Budget

One of the most important things to consider for your wedding is the budget. You do not want to be stressed about money on your wedding day. It is essential to take the time to plan the wedding budget.

How much will each guest cost?

Who will pay for the expenses? Create a spreadsheet and keep it updated throughout the wedding planning.

Believe me, you do not want to go over budget and start your marriage in debt so plan accordingly and realistically.

4. Decide and Book Your Wedding Venue

Your wedding venue is one of the critical factors of your wedding. It is vital to confirm that your wedding venue is available.

Then book it in advance as many can book out 1-2 years in advance especially if you’re going for a venue like Disney World.

Here are points to consider when choosing your venue:

  • The number of people attending the wedding
  • The means of transport your guests will use
  • Parking
  • The theme of your wedding
  • Budget

5. Choose Your Wedding Dress

You want to feel great on your wedding day. Having the right dress has a lot to do with how you feel.

Not to mention, your confidence as well. Start window shopping for your dress in advance.

Then narrow down your ideal dress.

Maybe you love fluff, maybe you hate satin, you’ll never know until you start!

Once you’re ready to buy your dress be sure to purchase well ahead of time.

Do this to allow for alterations and possible backorders.

6. Choose Your Wedding Bands

Though you’ve been rocking your gorgeous engagement ring for a while, it’s time to start deciding on wedding bands.

The wedding band marks your union. It will hopefully be worn for the rest of your life.

So, keep that in mind when selecting a band.

That includes your veil, your wedding lingerie, shoes, garter, costume jewelry, hair accessories, etc.

Though these may sound like simple items, they add a lot to the look and cost of your wedding so don’t overlook them!

8. Book Catering Services

Food is one of the most delicious parts of a wedding. Some wedding venues may have catering services, meaning you don’t have to worry about the food.

Well, other than selecting the menu.

If something is missing, you can make arrangements for outsourcing the specific thing or request the catering team to add it.

9. Music

Nothing lights up the mood of a party like great music. To begin, search for a DJ who is a great MC and has a similar vibe in the type of music you’re adding to your playlist.

Not up for a DJ?

Check out securing a live band instead to give the party a special touch.

10. Plan Your Honeymoon

Planning a wedding can be stressful so following it up with an amazing honeymoon couldn’t be more perfect.

A honeymoon will help you relax and refresh to start your life together on a joyous note.

It’s also an excuse to visit all the places you have been dreaming of visiting!

Decide on a budget and start making arrangements as soon as you can. For some, a honeymoon may not come for another year and that’s okay!

You will have more time to get everything in order before leaving.

Quick Tips:

Take time to confirm that your passport is valid. In many cases, a visa should have six months before the expiry date.

Also, research to find out if you need any vaccinations before traveling.
