Best Spots for Your First European Vacation

Planning your first trip to Europe? There is a whole different world across the pond with many of the world’s most exciting, historic, beautiful and cultural destinations just waiting to be discovered.

Europe is a huge place and there are many places to consider for your trip so it can be hard to know where is best.

Here are a few of your best options.

London, England

It will be one of the first places to spring to mind and this is for good reason.

London is one of the most glamorous cities in the entire world and somewhere with endless cultural attractions. Including Buckingham Palace, the Natural History Museum, Tower Bridge, Oxford Street, Big Ben and much more.

London is also a good option because there is no language barrier which makes it an easy place to travel, especially if you have kids.

Paris, France

The City of Love is another one of the most glamorous cities in the world. It is a fantastic choice for your first trip to Europe, especially if it is a trip with that special someone.

Paris is a city that oozes style and sophistication with charming cafes, boutique shops and art museums.

The Eiffel Tower is, of course, a major attraction but there is much more to the French capital than this.

Rome, Italy

If you have an interest in history then Rome in Italy is a great choice. It is one of the most globally influential cities in the world with around 3,000 years of art, architecture and culture to discover.

This includes stunning ancient ruins like the Forum and the Colosseum.

Rome is also a city which is lovely and warm with a cool atmosphere, friendly locals and wonderful cuisine.

Majorca

There are many lovely Spanish islands to choose from if you are seeking a relaxing sun, sea and sand holiday. Majorca is, arguably, the pick of the bunch.

It has beautiful beaches, limestone mountains, ancient ruins and cultural villages and towns.

There is something for everyone here.

A good idea is to book into a stylish villa from somewhere like Villa Plus so that you have a good base and you have somewhere to chill out.

Especially for those times that you are not at the beach or exploring.

How to Make the Most of Your First Trip

If you are struggling to choose just one of these destinations, you do not necessarily have to. One of the absolute best things about traveling in Europe is how incredibly easy it is to get from one country to the next.

Thanks to high-speed rail networks like the Eurostar and a huge web of budget airlines, you can easily combine a couple of different stops into one cohesive itinerary.

You could easily spend a few days exploring the historic streets of London before hopping on a quick train straight into the heart of Paris.

Planning a multi-city trip does require a bit of extra logistics, but it is a fantastic way to experience the massive variety that Europe has to offer.

Just make sure you do not overschedule your days.

It is always tempting to try and see everything at once, but leaving some open time to simply sit at a local cafe and watch the world go by will often end up being your favorite memory of the entire adventure.
