Not to mention, since it has no sugar, it makes this iced tea lemonade refresher keto-friendly!
1. Add Ice
For this recipe, a diamond-shaped ice ball tray was used. It was infused and then frozen with about a tablespoon of lemon juice mixed with water and a sprinkle of dry pea tea flowers.
Add a tablespoon into a 1/2 cup of water and stir. Add to the ice tray and top up with water. You can do this with a regular ice tray as well.
Place the tea and lemon-infused ice into a 16 oz cup.
2. Add Grapefruit and Lemon Slices
Place half a grapefruit slice and a lemon slice into the glass.
3. Make It Glitter and Sweet
Spring and summer are the seasons I like to bring out the edible glitter. We are outside most times or sitting on a patio, and when the light hits drink, it is just magical.
Add 1/8 teaspoon of glitter right over the ingredients and add 1.5 oz (3 tablespoons) of Torani Puremade Zero Sugar Sweetener Syrup.
The syrup mixes well. Torani flavors are crafted to bring out the best in your drinks so that you can make something your own in a delicious way!
4. Make it Bubbly
Keep reading for the step-by-step instructions to WOW your guests with this citrusy, sweet, and tart drink—all summer long!
Then add 8 oz of sparkling lemon water and carefully mix until the glitter is fully mixed.
5. Add the Butterfly Pea Tea
Butterfly pea tea is an absolutely beautiful tea that, after being steeped, results in a brilliant blue hue. The tea itself is very mild in flavor and can be likened to a very light green tea.
Once the other ingredients are in, it quickly becomes more of a visual than a taste factor.
6. Top Off with Hibiscus Tea
Top it with 1 oz of steeped hibiscus tea to finish off the drink. This is where you should start seeing your drink become a beautiful supernova of colors.
Garnish with a wedge of grapefruit, add a squeeze of lemon, add a straw, and mix. You’re left with a beautiful white and purple galaxy tea refresher!
How Does It Change Color?
The truth? Science! When the pH of the butterfly pea tea is altered, it changes from a blue hue to a magenta or purple hue. For example, adding an acid, lemon juice changes the pH, and the magic begins.
What Size Glass Do I Need?
For this drink, you’ll need a 16 oz glass.
How Do You Make the Ice?
Place a 1/2 cup of water into a measuring cup and add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Stir until it becomes a solution.
Then transfer the water into the ice tray about halfway in each mold and add the pea tea flowers. Top off the rest with regular water and freeze. So there you have it, lemon and pea tea-infused ice!
