The Features to Look For in a Dishwasher

Growing up, we hand washed every dish in our home. Whenever the sink was full, we would grab a sponge and go at it.

Funny enough, when we grew up and my parents finally got a dishwasher we never ended up using it much. Instead, it turned into storage. It was only until I got my own place that I realized how much easier a good dishwasher can change your life for the better.

These days, our dishwasher is a part of our daily life and I cannot see myself living without one.

In fact, I never will.

Read on to see why you need a good dishwasher in your life (like the AutoAir Bosch 500 Series), and what to look for in a dishwasher that will make your life much easier.

Lots of Room

We cook a lot and for a family of 4, that means a lot of dishes. Dishes for meal prep, dishes for cooking, and then dishes that are for serving. After every meal, the sinks are easily full.

When it comes to picking a dishwasher, you should think about the size and the capacity. Even if your family is smaller than mine, if you entertain, those dishes rack up quick.

So, having a dishwasher that can handle a lot of dishes, pots, and pans is essential.

If you’re in the market for a new dishwasher, you should consider the AutoAir Bosch 500 Series dishwasher. It’s 24-inches wide, roomy and has enough space for up to 16 place settings.

Not to mention, it has 5 wash cycles including five-level wash and options like Extra Dry and a concealed heating element.

Racks That Work With Not Against You

I find that with the dishwashers I’ve owned in the past, once you’ve loaded the dishes, they’re pretty much set. Sure, you can rearrange them a bit but, the racks are fixed.

Look for a dishwasher that has racks that are easy to move and adjust, even when they’re full of dishes.

The AutoAir just happens to have an EasyGlide rack that has your back.

Accommodates Unique Items

Sometimes, actually, a lot of the times, you find yourself rearranging your dishes like a jigsaw puzzle. It can be aggravating to get things to fit just right or to get unique or funky shaped dishware to get clean.

The AutoAir Bosch 500 Series comes with a flexible third rack. This allows you to fit tall, deep, and uniquely shaped items. That means everything is cleaned, no leaving items out to hand wash. Less work for you!

Saves You Money

Looking for a machine that is ENERGY STAR rated will save you money year-round. They are more efficient and use less energy than older models.

Is Quiet and Effective

One thing I can say about washing the dishes is that we like to get them done in the early evening. When everyone is busy doing something and the house is loud. Let’s face it, the dishwasher can get loud.

You want a machine that is powerful, gets the job done but isn’t too loud that it’s a disruptor in your home. With Bosch dishwashers, you may have to check the exterior InfoLight to see if it’s running the cycle. They have a 44-dBA rating—that’s how quiet they are!

Built-In Leak Protection

If you’ve ever had the misfortune to run a dishwasher cycle and come back to a small pond in your kitchen, you know it ruins your day. The thing is, not many machines are made to have a fail-safe to help prevent leaks.

If you’re going to invest in a new machine, the AutoAir Bosch 500 Series comes with a 4-part leak prevention system. It uses sensors to detect and stop leaks, and can even turn on by itself.

Hello clean dishes and bye-bye leaks!

Dries Efficiently

One thing that you don’t want when you put a load of dishes through a cycle is to have a machine that doesn’t dry the dishes well. That leaves room for unsightly water stains and dishes that don’t look very clean.

A good option to look for in a dishwasher is a machine that has technology that is made to dry your dishes perfectly.

The AutoAir from Bosch (compared to Bosch Dishwashers with PureDry) automatically opens the door at the end of the drying cycle to let moisture escape and fresh air circulate for better drying results.

Keeps Your Family Safe

For me, one of the predominant reasons I choose to own and use a dishwasher is because it can clean my dishes with incredibly hot water that disinfects them thoroughly.

Look for machines that have sanitizing options. These are great to use when someone in the family is sick and you don’t want it to spread. Or just plain because you like to have SUPER clean dishes like me.

You guessed it, the AutoAir Bosch 500 Series has a Sanitize Option. It reduces 99.9% of bacteria with a hot-wash rinse for sparkling clean and sanitized dishes.

You simply cannot go wrong with that.
