Super Easy Creamy Alfredo Sauce
How to Make Creamy Alfredo Sauce.
And yes, it is simple!
I am a sucker for a delicious, freshly made pasta dish. In fact, when we go out, I love indulging in a bowl of fettuccine Alfredo! Now, I hate to toot my own horn but, I came home from eating at Olive Garden and I was inspired. I wanted to make my own fettuccine Alfredo for the special nights at home and I jumped in and ended up with a sauce that tastes better than Olive Garden! Well, at least I know it is husband and kid-approved. Also, be forewarned that this meal is something that we would reserve for special occasions as it is high-calorie but, delicious enough that my daughter calls it “nothing but awesomeness” pasta.
Things You Will Need:
- 2 tbsp.of Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
- 2 tbsp. butter. (I used margarine)
- 2 cups Heavy Whipping Cream.
- 2 gloves of garlic.
- 3/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese.
- 1 box of fettuccine or pasta of choice.
- Extra Grated Cheese for topping. (optional)
- Meat of choice. (optional)
- 1 pair of tongs.
- 1 non-stick pan.
- 1 medium pot.
- 1 plastic spatula.
Spices You Will Need:
- 1 tsp. of salt.
- 1 tsp of pepper. (black or white)
- 1 tsp. of garlic powder.
- 1 tsp. of parsley.
- 1 cube of chicken bouillon.
Prepare It.
Before you get the creamy goodness boiling, you have to prepare it by making an oil base. Chop and mince the 2 garlic cloves, then add 2 tbsp. of Extra Virgin Olive Oil to frying pan, then add 2 tpsp. of margarine or butter, add the garlic and sautee it lightly. Add 2 cups of Heavy Whipping Cream and stir often. Don’t be alarmed, it will be “runny” at first. Add your spice mix. Let it simmer but, continue stirring so that it doesn’t burn. Once it starts to thicken, add 3/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese.
Stir It!
This part is important. You must stir it constantly at this point, fold from the outside and to the inside. Let it simmer and sit for small periods and then stir it again so that the cheese fully melts and becomes a part of the sauce. The sauce will be thickening as it evaporates the liquid from it. Use your judgment on what you want for the thickness of the sauce. The cheese will break down into crumbles in the sauce and it gives it an extra kick. If you mince your garlic small enough like I did, the kids will not notice it but, will love the flavor!
Enjoy!
Boil your choice of pasta how you would normally do, strain it and place pasta back into pot. Using the plastic spatula, pour and then scrape the Alfredo sauce onto the pasta. With a pair of tongs, toss the pasta and sauce together until fully blended. Top it with your favorite type of meat, either chicken or sausage for example. You can add veggies to it as well, it is really up to you!

My hubby loves eating alfredo pasta or alfredo pizza! Looks like a great recipe!
Thanks, mmm, Alfredo pizza sounds divine.

It is very creamy. Hehe. We save it for once in a while as it is very rich in cals.

Simple and looks delicious. A must try!
Instead of using heavy whipping cream, try half & half. Slightly lighter and a little less fat.
Great idea! Thanks Freda!
Ooh yum! We love all kinds of pasta at our house, but I think the family favourite is fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and broccoli.
This sounds excellent! I like to make my own pasta, and it often has flavors, like lemon basil, etc, and I'm puzzled what would be a good sauce – eureka!! This is it! especially for company, no more plain olive oil for a sauce!!!
I love garlic! It's so good for you too
And it tastes so good!
Thank you for sharing! I love alfredo but can never find a good sauce! I am definitely going to try this!
It\’s delicious, not to toot my own horn but, I owe it all to the garlic! 🙂
