Girls Will Be Girls…
But, don’t always have to be.
Well, as many of you know, I am blessed to have two special little girls in my life. In this house, we are the majority and well–we ARE girly! Kinder Canada has invited me to share with you guys how girls will be girls and boys will be boys and how it fits our life at home.
My girls are girly girls and while they love spa days, tea parties and all that is pink and fluffy, they sure do love their Hot Wheels and toys that are generally for boys!
In this house we think that the gender role and attachment to toys is silly and if my girls loved playing with Hot Wheels AND Barbies, why not?
Growing up myself, I was a tomboy. But, if this doesn’t sound strange or out of this world–a girly tomboy. Meaning, I liked wearing pink and carrying purses and doing my hair–just as much as I enjoyed picking worms and playing kick the can in my tutu!
I’d like to think that my girls both exemplify that and have carried it on. When the girls are being their girliest, you can find them dressed up having a tea party and then building forts.

Of course, they were super excited when our package arrived and quite frankly, anxious to find those limited edition. Gabby loved collecting the Barbies and in this case alone, she got all but one in the set. She loved how fashionable they were! Mimi loved the cars, she likes using her little fingers to put the stickers on the Hot Wheels.

There is something magical when you crack open a Kinder Egg and when they have classic toys like Barbie and Hot Wheels, boys and girls alike will love them.

My daughters are going to go nuts when they see these. They LOVE Kinder eggs — grandma always has a package in her purse when she visits. It's like a cover charge for admittance into our house – LOL.

Aww, so sweet the way the girls had so much fun with both varieties! My very girly nieces have been having a great time with the Barbie Kinder Surprise, but my very boy-ish boys want nothing to do with them! Lol They sure do love the Hot Wheels eggs though!

I think it's great! Girls can pick hot wheels if they want and boys barbie. To my son it's chocolate. I like that kids can choose brand names that they know and that Kinder puts these out.
That\’s exactly it, can\’t go wrong with chocolate!
My little guy is still a bit young for Kinders eggs but I look forward to helping him eat the chocolate when he's old enough for the toys. 🙂
