Memories Splash Punta Cana

Traveling to Memories Splash Punta Cana.

One of the best parts of a family vacation is heading to warm and sunny destinations. Places where you will find turquoise waters and white sands and the accommodations are luxurious and are all guaranteed to help you create unforgettable memories.

Punta Cana is located on the eastern coast of the Dominican Republic. Everyone who visits Punta Cana will be able to go to beaches along both the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. The temperatures throughout the year are mostly consistent with it rarely going below seventy degrees and above ninety-five degrees. It’s no wonder that it is a top destination for families to visit.

We recently had the chance to travel to Punta Cana and enjoy a week in Memories Splash Punta Cana resort. Gabby was selected in a nationwide search to be a Sunwing Kidcationer. She had a blast reviewing and covering a tropical family resort and we were able to see such a beautiful country in the process.

Traveling with Sunwing was in itself a great experience. Before you take off, you toast with champagne, sit back and enjoy the flight! They even serve warm food depending on your flight and it is all included. Drinks were always available and you even got to sample a little chocolate before the flight was through. It really made you excited for what was to come in the resort!

All-Inclusive.

Memories Splash Punta Cana is all-inclusive, so all of the food and activities are included in the price. Since this resort has a huge water park, it is geared towards families with children and there are plenty of activities that are centered around family fun. The resort offers an excellent Kids Club that are fun for kids of all ages, they even have a Teen Club for older kids so if parents need a little RnR, they are able to drop off the kids so they can have kid-friendly fun while parents can enjoy other resort amenities.

The Royalton is a sister property that you have access to and it offers amazing restaurants and cafes and access to the beach.

Seeing first hand how caring the staff in the clubs were, I can tell you the kids will love it! They have trampolines, rock-climbing, crafts, movies and games! They even go on scavenger hunts throughout the resort and get to meet and greet with some of their favorite characters. The teens have their own lounge where they can play pool, video games and so much more!

Ahoy Matey!

Besides enjoying all the incredible amenities that the resort offers like the largest water park in the Caribbean, the pools, live entertainment, delicious restaurants the Kids Club, the gorgeous beach and much more–you can head off the resort and enjoy excursions.

We took a pirate ship excursion that took us out to the ocean to snorkel. The world beneath the turquoise water is incredible and one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. The colorful fish that come up to you while you feed them is so much fun too.

Afterwards, we met Marco Polo the manta ray and swam with sharks. Can you imagine? It was exhilarating and we celebrated afterwards on board a pirate ship, we danced, drank and ate while we were surrounded by pirates trying to take possession of a treasure and ship!

See the Sights!

One of the more popular attractions near Punta Cana is the Basilica Catholic Monument which was built-in 1962. This monument honors the Virgin of La Altagracia, who is the protector of the Dominicans. There is also a museum that features collections of jewelry and paintings that were donated by Catholics since the 18th century.

Over at Dolphin Island Park, guests are taken by boat out to a platform in the water between the beach and coral reef barrier of Bavaro. Guests are then able to snorkel and swim amongst dolphins, sharks, stingrays and sea lions. Seaquarium allows you to see tropical fish and coral reefs in an underwater setting and there is even a sunken submarine among the treasures.

A short distance from Punta Cana is Catalina Island which is less than ten kilometers in size. The island is made up of sand dunes, mangroves and coral reefs and visitors are able to explore the undisturbed and natural beauty of the island.

There are many tours that travel to Catalina Island every day, so that you can venture out into the waters to snorkel, dive and swim with the marine life. The beaches are filled with white sand and are the perfect place to rest and relax after a busy day in the water.
