It’s The Art Institutes International Culinary Schools Best Teen Chef Scholarships!
If you live in the US or Canada (excluding Quebec), even Puerto Rico and you have a teen who loves to cook, this contest is for you! When you submit your dish, you can be in the running for one grand prize winner will receive a trip for two to New York City for a VIP tour of Food Network’s studios, dinner at a Food Network chef’s restaurant, plus a library of Food Network Kitchen’s cookbooks.
Also, more than $100,000 in tuition scholarships to The Art Institutes schools will be awarded to high school seniors and high school graduates!

The Art Institutes (www.artinstitutes.edu) is a system of more than 50 schools located throughout North America. The Art Institutes schools provide an important source for design, media arts, fashion and culinary professionals. Several institutions included in The Art Institutes system are campuses of South University or Argosy University.
It’s super easy to enter!
Submit a favorite recipe complete with a title, ingredients, instructions, the number of servings, and presentation ideas. Include a statement detailing your interest in studying at The Art Institutes. The statement must be a minimum of 500 and maximum of 1,000 words. You can even add one picture of your finished product for a visual aid. You must be at least 16 to participate. Categories for high school seniors and high school grads are separate.
The Art Institutes invites talented future chefs to enter The Art Institutes Best Teen Chef Competition for high school seniors or The Art Institutes Culinary Scholarship Competition for high school graduates. The competitions are an opportunity for those interested in pursuing a culinary career to experience the excitement and discipline of the industry.
How You Will be Judged:
- Adherence to entry requirements (35%);
- Essay (35%);
- Appeal of finished dish (15%);
- Creative use of ingredients (15%).
This is an absolutely amazing opportunity, especially if you have kids that really do enjoy cooking and aspire to be chefs one day.
It’s an opportunity that you shouldn’t pass up!

I can't even explainto you have excited I am by this!! My son is an aspiring chef. He's 15 and has worked in restaurants since 14. Next year he begins his culinary apprenticeship. So I will sit down adn talk to him about this tonight! Thank you so much for posting about this! I never would have know otherwise! <3
