Avengers Iron Man Cupcakes

If you were left with your jaw on the floor after the end of the last Avengers movie, you are not alone. It was quite intense and very final. The thing is, we really don’t know where it goes from that end. Until Avengers: End Game coming out on April 26th, 2019, that is. To amp up the excitement, we paid homage to one of our favourite Avengers, Iron Man. It doesn’t get any sweeter than cupcakes, right?

Read on for the super easy, and well, totally SUPER step-by-step recipe for the best superhero, Iron Man. In cupcake form!

Ingredients You Will Need:

Yields: 12 decorated cupcakes

Step 1:

When you’re about to begin the decorating process, ensure that your cupcakes are completely cool. This will prevent your buttercream from slipping off each cupcake.

In a medium-sized bowl, use an electric mixer and beat butter, sugar and milk on slow speed. These ingredients will make up your buttercream frosting.

Gradually increase the speed to high and once the ingredients are smooth and form semi-stiff peaks, the buttercream is ready.

Cupcakes being frosted with yellow frosting, cupcakes and piping bag is shown.

Add yellow gel food colouring to the buttercream and mix until completely tinted.

Scoop the buttercream into a frosting bag with Wilton 1M tip attached. Frost each cupcake.

To make Iron Man’s hand: roll 12 spheres out of your red fondant, about ½ an inch in size.

Step 2:

Step 3:

To start shaping the hand, use a paring knife to cut out a small triangle from your fondant circle (your circle will look similar to Pac Man).

Step 4:

To proceed, cut slits and give the hand 4 fingers.

Step 5:

Step 6:

Round out the edges and smoothen any imperfections out.

Step 7:

With your white fondant, roll out 12 spheres, about ¼ of an inch in size.

Pour some edible glitter into a bowl and add a few drops of water. Use a small brush and paint each white sphere with the glitter. Place one sphere on each hand.
