We spend a large portion of our lives sleeping. That is why I am a firm believer in investing in a bed that will help you feel refreshed and ready to take on your day.

My kids may not be little anymore, but every day of being a mom can be exhausting. I got so tired of being tired every day that I decided to do something about it. For all the tired people out there, there may not be any rest for the weary, but I believe we all deserve some rest! Check out these tips for getting more shut-eye.
1. Power down early
I know it can be tempting to have some screen time before bed or binge-watch your current favourite show into the wee hours of the night. One thing that does wonders for getting more sleep is powering down an hour or two before your bedtime. Dim the lights, watch one episode of your show or grab a book and read until sleep hits you.
2. Invest in a bed that helps you get better rest
One of the best decisions we made was getting a King-sized bed. I think we were going on 9 years with our current King, so it was time to start looking for a new one. A few things that I noticed was that I was waking up tired every day. I felt sore and that lasted for most of the day. I knew it was most likely from not getting good rest at night.

How much does it cost?
Prices start from $649 for a twin to $899 for a California King.
Is it stiff?
You’ll notice that it is a bit stiff but, after 30 days–it fits your body like a glove. Darasak thought it was a bit stiff, while I felt that it was nice and soft.
Does it have an odour?
I noticed a faint smell that dissipated after a few hours. But, they use high-grade materials that have little to no odour or chemical off-gassing. Their ecoLight™, Elastex™, and support foams are certified by the CertiPUR® program. They do not contain any harmful chemicals, heavy metals, or impact the air quality. You don’t have to air out the mattress for a night, y’all.

3. Put Down the Coffee, Pick Up a Book
Late-afternoon caffeine can cause problems for your sleep, even if you aren’t aware of it. Studies advise to stick to a 2 PM caffeine cut-off and leave the coffee for the morning. Since caffeine is a stimulant, having coffee at night may have you counting sheep and not getting rest. Instead, wind down grab a book and read until you get sleepy. The combination of a comfy bed and a good book is not only a great way to relax but, leads to better sleep.
4. Keep it Cool or Stay Warm
I’m the type of person that needs a fan on all-year-round. I’m always warm and I sleep half in and half out of my blanket. Darasak, on the other hand, likes to be warm when he sleeps. Finding the right temperature as a couple can be a challenge but, all it takes is having a fan going and grabbing a throw blanket for your partner.

6. Find small moments to rest throughout the day
If you’re anything like me, you go until you can go no more. I’ve been trying to find more rest in my day. Those small moments are really adding up to help me be more well rested. For example, I can’t work every waking moment. I do need to take some time to rest. Sleeping in a little, taking a cat nap, or even getting to bed earlier helps.
7. Say “no” to more things
One of the reasons we’re so tired is that we say yes to so many things. Start saying no more, so you can get more rest at the end of the day. We’re very much a go-go-go society, but if it’s not getting you anywhere but tired. Start saying no. I promise, there will always be something you can say yes to later down the road.
