The Eaton Chelsea Toronto.
A fun family getaway!

We had the pleasure of staying at the Eaton Chelsea in Downtown Toronto this past Mother’s Day weekend. If you haven’t heard of the Eaton Chelsea, it is centrally located within walking distance to the city’s subway. You can also have access to the thriving business and shopping districts in the area. Eaton Chelsea Toronto offers travelers efficient and comfortable accommodation in the heart of the city.

Warm Welcome.

The Eaton Chelsea welcomed us with treats and a warm card welcoming us to their hotel. The treats were very much welcomed by my girls and Hubby and I especially loved the Maple Candy. You can check out additional pictures of our stay on my Instagram feed, here.

We HEART TO.

I don’t know about you but, I absolutely love Toronto. I make any and every excuse to take a trip there whenever I can. There is something about Toronto that is magnetizing and pulls me in time and time again. Whenever I go, I love staying somewhere downtown and I’ve stayed in the Financial District lots. But, never have I stayed so central in location as we did at the Eaton Chelsea. It’s right on Gerrard and Yonge St. and in walking distance of the Eaton Centre, Yonge and Dundas Square and a wide array of shops and good eats.

Kid-Friendly.

When I travel though, I look for a place that is not only fairly priced, centrally located, nice (okay, gorgeous), WiFi equipped and family-friendly. I’d have to say that if I am traveling with my family, it has to be able to accommodate them and the Eaton Chelsea far exceeds that!

Take a look at their Kids Check-In, they totally make kids feel welcome and special. Quite often, if not always, checking-in to hotels are boring and drab for the kiddos and hard to keep them afoot during the process. I love how the Eaton Chelsea has made a special area where the hotel employees immediately head over to “check” any child that walks up those steps. They are greeted and awarded with toys or swag. The girls LOVED this!

Family-Friendly.

We had a Deluxe Room with Two Doubles that were super comfy for all of us. Best of all, they were very clean and that is always a must! Not to mention, there was a desk where I could comfortably sit down, plug in and catch up on work when everyone went to sleep. Though, I’ll admit, this weekend–I tried to unplug and do minimal work because I wanted to enjoy it to the fullest. But, I loved the fact that it was there if I needed it. Oh and who doesn’t love a big LCD flat screen to watch your favorite TV during down times, right?

Some of the Room Amenities:

• Hotel-wide Wi-Fi Internet
• Iron and ironing board
• In-room coffee and tea
• Eaton’s customised bathroom amenities
• LCD flat screen TV

Comfort.

Whenever I travel, I want to know what the washroom looks like where I am going to stay. If you’re like me, you want it to be clean and have everything you need, right?  Well, the washroom is nice, clean and cozy. We had no problem using it as a family and I loved the fact that they had everything you needed. Plenty of clean towels, toiletries and a hair dryer. I liked the modern look of it too. So, clean and functional and a thumbs up from me!

The Family Fun Zone.

Yes, you read that right. The Eaton Chelsea has an entire area in their hotel that is completely dedicated to kids and their family. There’s the Family Pool, Toronto’s ONLY Indoor Corkscrew Waterslide, measuring at 130 ft, the four-storey ‘Corkscrew’ takes guests on a twisty adventure that loops around outside the hotel walls before splashing back to the pool below.

The Kid Centre where your kids can play, create and more. Oh, and Club 33, a club that is for teens and tweens where they can play video games, foosball, arcade games, pool and more!

Also, in the midst of packing before we arrived, we forgot to pack Mimi’s stroller. Luckily, the Kid Centre signs strollers out on a first come, first serve basis. So, we were covered to explore the city!

The Kid-Centre!

The Kid Centre, where active and artistic children will find plenty to keep them busy. Focused on providing educational and engaging activities, youngsters can paint, play Wii games or sample the range of arts and craft supplies. Did I mention that they have BUNNIES and FISH too? The girls loved playing and then taking a peek at the cute bunnies!

Club 33, the ultimate teen retreat, this all-in-one venue boasts the necessary games and gadgets to keep youngsters busy. Club 33 Teen Lounge is equipped with two LCD flat-screen televisions, two Xbox 360s, a foosball and pool table as well as various arcade games and air hockey.

Be At The Center Of It All.

Staying at the Eaton Chelsea in Toronto was not only FUN for the us and the girls, it was absolutely in the perfect location. You know how they say that it’s all about location, location, location? Well, whoever they are is right. While in Toronto, we were able to be in walking distance of the Eaton Centre for shopping and dining. We walked to our Double Decker bus tour and played tourist and visited all the districts. Even going to the Distillery District to savor chocolate and beer.

We even had access to the subway to get around. That’s the best part of being in Toronto, it’s taking in the city and not hopping into your car and driving everywhere. Not only do you miss out on the culture if you do but, you also spend a ton on parking. Parking at the Eaton, we could come and go as we pleased and headed out to Vaughn Mills to LegoLand and even Pacific Mall. But, the rest of the time we stayed in the city and enjoyed it immensely. We even ventured out to take a boat cruise. We were beat and very happy to come “home” to a nice bed.

If you’re looking  for a perfectly centrally located hotel that is family-friendly, you have it in The Eaton Chelsea Toronto. Clean, comfortable and fun. We had good rest and truly enjoyed our stay. You can check out Gabby’s review of the hotel via her video, here. You can see it through the eyes of a kid!
