Happy 8th Birthday Peanut

Happy 8th Birthday Peanut.

Happy 8th Birthday, Peanut!

This day is special.

It marks the day that I became a mother 8 years ago to a most beautiful, caring and patient little girl.

So, if it’s okay with you guys, I’m going to gush about her today in this post.

What she’s accomplished is amazing, she’s a brilliant artist who draws beautifully. She illustrates depth, distance, emotion, and action in ways that are far beyond her years.

She teaches me how to play the guitar and she we sit down and play together. When I forget a chord, she teaches me.

Every day she’s shufflin’.

She knows how to dance and loves to do it. She was moved to an advanced class and is flourishing.

Then this kid can play sports, she’s quick–avid. I’m glad to see her accomplish things I didn’t have the chops to do and to share in the ones we both enjoy.

I am gifted to have a little girl that is doing magnificently in school, excelling. I am proud that she enjoys school too.

Well, as proud as I am…

I’m more proud of the kind person she is. She’s kind to a fault but, one thing she got from me as though she’s kind, she doesn’t allow anyone to walk all over her.

She’s giving. Generous. Patient. Hilarious with an intoxicating laugh!

She’s energetic and at times has a little trouble focusing but, we all love spontaneity and wit anyway!

I thank my lucky stars and God for blessing me with her and her sister. 8 years ago she changed my life. She taught me patience, understanding and unconditional love that cannot be stopped or impeded by anything in the world.

Yesterday my Peanut had her annual Birthday Bash! This year she wanted a Build-a-Bear party with her closest friends! She and her friends took over the Build-a-Bear store at our local mall and all you can hear were happy squeals and giggles all over!

She picked out her bear to stuff and sticking her to Hello Kitty theme, she picked out her stuffie and dubbed her “Stacey,”  she added a gigglin’ noise and a heart and a wish from each of her friends. Stuffed Stacey and then moved on to give her a bath. They played games, laughed, joked and dance!

Stacey was now stuffed and ready to go!

Now, it’s dress-up time!

The girls had a chance to pick out lots of outfits, trendy shirts, and funky t-shirts! They all decided to get the same outfit and all the teddy’s were matching! They put them in their new homes, got their birth certificates and we sent them off with a $10 gift card for their new friend’s next outfit!

Next stop, Citrine for lunch!

We had a delicious all-you-can-eat buffet style lunch and ice cream and cake to celebrate Gabs’ Birthday!

Definitely a treat kinda day, burger sliders, hand-breaded chicken bites, veggie pizza, french fries, macaroni and cheese & more! Citrine was very accommodating and delish!

Like I said, a special day indeed…

    1. Thanks so much Kathleen, yes, she was a tiny little Peanut at birth and the nurses and us called her that. It stuck. She's still my little Peanut.
