Back to School Must-Haves
Before the start of the new school year, there are several things students and their parents need to take care of.
Let’s start with the least obvious.
Today, there are many educational apps and platforms ready to help students with learning. So choosing the appropriate math app or essay writing service that can also write my research papers is as essential as buying school appliances.
But if the selection of the apps depends on the subjects your kid is going to study, things are a bit more complicated with the school stuff you need to buy.
That’s why back to school time can be stressful. Especially if you don’t know what your kids will need for the school year.
Sometimes, you don’t get a school list, and fashion changes so often, it’s hard to keep up.
If you don’t have the time or aren’t sure where to start to get your children ready for school, there’s no shame in that.
Don’t worry, I got you. I’ve compiled a list of the top 10 back-to-school must-haves that will result in happy kids that are ready to learn.
One of the best parts of going back to school is picking out a good backpack. The kids can choose the design and you can choose the type. One that you’ll know will last.
For high school or college kids, a Hershel bag is a popular choice.
Since it doesn’t have a zipper rather a drawstring and buckles, it makes it last long since packing it to the brim won’t break the zippers. Plus, they are built well and both girls and boys will love it.
For younger kids, you can find cute and sturdy licensed backpacks at Sears Canada, they range from Despicable Me- Minions, Peppa Pig, Star Wars, Spiderman, and more.
2. Lunchboxes and Gear
Lunch hour is my favourite hour, at least it was at school. For kids, they look forward to yummy meals and snacks.
Send them their lunches in a cute bento box in pink or blue, a black and white cute pattern lunch bag, or a colourful bag with a pocket for your phone.
For those who appreciate a more plain look, here’s a black lunch bag that is perfect!
3. Fashionable Threads
Clothes are one of the most expressive ways to show off your style. Every kid is different but, the best part is that there are lots of options.
For girls, it’s great to have a lot of printed tees, a couple of pairs of jeans, tights, and leggings.
Activewear is a must if your child is active!
For boys, having a lot of t-shirts and joggers is the go-to. If your child prefers jeans, it’s always good to pick up a couple of pairs for the school week.
Having a great pair of running shoes is essential. They’re good for everyday use and for sports. I usually make it a practice to buy a good pair of running shoes and a pair of fashionable boots or shoes for when they feel like dressing up.
If you have older kids, this shouldn’t be a problem but, they may want to get a couple of colors.
Notebooks are essential for school subjects. While most kids get them from school, sometimes they are not supplied.
These super cute notebooks are perfect for young girls and they’re only 79 cents.
I know that my daughters love the theme. For the guys, we have these Hilroy notebooks in different colors.
Once the kids start getting older, they are in need of binders for all of their school subjects. Little ones don’t need these yet but, older siblings and college students definitely do.
If your child prefers having all of their subjects different, this best-seller 4 binder-pack is a great option. For $11 you can get a 4-pack, not bad, huh?
If your child prefers to have all their subjects in one binder. A Mead zippered binder is the best bet. They come in different colors and are sturdy!
7. Pencils, Erasers, Pens, and Highlighters
With all of these things, you’re good to go!
8. Hole Puncher
I know that it is something we don’t often think of but, it’s one item that my daughter asked me for. It’s always good to be prepared and having a hole puncher handy is optimal. This one is small and sturdy!
While most schools have scissors, they tend to be in limited supply. Kids can be more productive if they have their own.
Just make sure you label them!
10. Laptop & Tablet Sleeves
The world is a digital realm now and school is no exception. My kids use tablets and laptops daily. Luckily, our school does supply a limited amount of tech but, oftentimes, kids bring their own to school.
Plus, college and high school students definitely use their own gear. Protecting their devices is important and these sleeves can hold laptops and tablets.
There you have it, this is just a small list of things that your child will need for the school year and definitely, the must-haves that they will love AND use.
Do you have any back-to-school must-haves that your kids request?
Let me know, til then—cheers m’deres!
