Our Bouncy Summer So Far + the Springfree Trampoline Summer Jumpoff Event!
Our Summer So Far & the Springfree Trampoline Summer Jumpoff Event!
Keeping the kids busy and active all summer-long can sometimes be a challenge. Ever since we’ve added a Springfree Trampoline to our backyard, it’s made being active easy and fun.
One thing that I make it a point to encourage Gabby and Mimi to partake in is physical activity. During the summer, it is easy to fall into a routine that involves a lot of screen time indoors. This can often lead to them having a harder time adjusting when the school year begins. I know that if you haven’t been active for a while, you can feel sluggish and no one wants to feel like that, right?
If you’ve been following along, you’ll have read some ideas on how to keep your family active with the Springfree. I’ll be completely honest and say that since the Springfree has been in our backyard, the girls have been on it every single day. Even when it rains, they wait until it dries off and get right back on. Needless to say, it’s been a bouncy summer so far.
Basketball
Of course, this has been the top activity that the girls have been enjoying. They see who can get the best dunk or they sit and see who can get the most baskets. The FlexrHoop has been so much fun for all of us actually and both Darasak and I have gotten in on the action. We even alternate with one person in the trampoline and another person outside shooting over the net for more difficulty.
Bounce Contest
The girls and Darasak take turns and compete to see who can jump the highest. Whoever who has the most height, lands on their bottom and bounces back on their feet takes the win. This competition can get pretty fierce.
Trick Master
All these weeks, we’ve all had plenty of time to learn and master tricks on our Springfree Trampoline. Especially the girls and they love to compete. They take turns and try to outdo each other!
Namaste
The girls love to do yoga, it’s something that I’ve loved to do over the years and they’ve done with me and at school. So they do their favourite poses while they are inside the Springfree. The surface of the trampoline makes the poses a bit harder to hold but, so much fun! It’s a great place to try to get them to meditate too because that is something I definitely love to do! Yoga always ends up with bouncing though.
Sprinkler Fun
With the warm weather we have been having lately, the girls have been cooling off by asking us to place the sprinkler underneath the Springfree. It’s cool, it’s fun and they can relax and enjoy the summer weather.
Reading Nook
Well, I’m not sure it can be classified as a nook but, Gabby and Mimi grab some pillows and read outdoors. The trampoline makes for a comfy place to escape into another world. You can take bounce breaks too.
Work It Out
The older Gabs gets the more she likes to work on her fitness. At least, that’s what she told me. She likes to do the Pike drop, which to me looks like she is essentially bending in half and touching her toes in the air. Of course, one of her favourites is the straddle jump and she does the splits in the air! To me, it’s amazing to see how she can manipulate her body and I know she’s staying active while having fun.
Spring Into 150!
If you’re free on Saturday, July 29, head over to Yonge-Dundas Square to attend the Springfree Summer Jumpoff! You can discover firsthand the health and fitness benefits that trampolines offer families and you’ll get a chance to get your jump on! Believe me, it’s FUN! Plus, you’ll get a chance to help a great cause.
What’s the Summer Jumpoff?
Springfree Trampoline has partnered with two-time Olympic Gold Medal-winning trampolinist Rosie MacLennan to host a Canada 150-themed event to benefit Cystic Fibrosis. Trampolines will be set up with the TGOMA interactive gaming system and guests will be invited to play! The tgoma system will be connected to a custom, Canada-150 themed version of the Quizzle game. The questions will all be Canadian trivia. You’ll be able to test out your Canadian IQ!
For each 150 questions correctly answered collectively by event guests, Springfree will donate one trampoline from the event to Cystic Fibrosis Canada. A total of TEN trampolines will be given away and they need YOUR help to succeed at this goal! So get your Canuck trivia hat on and come on down!
What is TGOMA?
It is a system that turns the Springfree Trampoline into the ultimate interactive platform. Designed to motivate families to go outside and be active, TGOMA includes learning games that teach math, language and problem-solving.
What time is the event?
The event will be held between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Why Cystic Fibrosis?
Trampolines are a low-impact activity for anyone to enjoy. But, for those with cystic fibrosis, it’s low-impact therapy that is a fun, exciting and alternative way to get exercise. Plus, any form of exercise for CF sufferers helps them get their lungs working thus helping them to loosen intrusive mucus that affects their breathing.
Did you know that CF usually primarily affects kids and young adults? Being able to jump on a trampoline can help them enjoy being a kid again. A feeling that can sometimes get temporarily lost amongst the daily treatments and physiotherapy required to maintain their health and lung function.
Time to Jump!
Springfree trampolines are available online at springfreetrampoline.ca and through Springfree retail stores at Canadian Tire and Toys “R” Us locations nationwide. For the closest store near you,

I hope that some of you can make it out to the event. It will be fun and it helps out a lot of people!
Have you ever considered a trampoline to stay active?

My kids want a trampoline SO bad, but here where i live our homeowners insurance goes way up (like it doubles) when you have one on your property, so I have held off on getting one. They might wear me down one of these days, though 🙂
OMG, that is no fun!
Bouncy summers are wonderful. Can’t agree more about getting whole family out there bouncing
It really is so much fun!
I see lots of fun in your yard this summer, have fun !

So many things to do on a trampoline, they are such a fun place to spend time and of course keep yourself active as well.
Yes, I completely agree!
Spring free trampolines are the only kind I will ever use. Traditional trampolines are so dangerous!
Yes, they make such great trampolines.
I totally wish we would get a trampoline. I would be on it all day long. I love those!
They are so much fun!
what an awesome event!! and yes totally would love a trampoline, not just for my girls, but for myself as well! My girls have a little trampoline inside but how much fun would it be to have something outdoors that we can all jump around on.
Yes, it is so much. Maybe something to look into?
I want to come play too!! What awesome ways to stay active and in shape over the summer break!
Thanks!
My kids have begged relentlessly for a trampoline. I’m sure they would get a ton of exercise on it if we got some, not to mention they would be getting fresh air too. I love all your ideas for having fun on the trampoline!
Thanks, it is fun to get creative and have fun while exercising.
The FlexrHoop looks so fun. It’s important that the kids stay active. The summer jumpoff sounds fun, too.
Yes, it really is important.
I have always wanted to a trampoline but our space is not so big. I still think it’s cool to be active by having fun on it than to exercise.
I think it is the exercise I enjoy the most!
This trampoline looks like so much fun. I love the idea of raising money and awareness for such a good cause. It’s important to help people with this disease.
It really is!
This trampoline is way too cool! This makes me miss the trampoline we had back then.
Never too late to get another!
What a fantastic time for the kids! I loved trampolines when I was a kid, so much fun!
They really are so much fun!
Fantastic event by a fantastic company! Hoping to own a Springfree trampoline in the near future!
Awesome, do not forget to use the promo code for a free TGOMA when you do decide to get one.
As I type, I can hear the neighbor kids playing on their trampoline. When my kids were little, we had one too. Hours and hours of fun were had. It was great exercise, something they could do with their friends, and kept them busy for a very long time. I was glad to read about TOGMA .. anything that raises awareness and helps a good cause is a win in my book! x
Thanks Ali, yes…it is always nice to see companies supporting a great cause.
That looks like a lot of fun. We have a trampoline too and it’s so much fun. My girls are playing on it all the time.
They are fun, eh?
What a great way to keep them active and in good physical health! I love that it’s “spring-free” – those springs are a parent’s nightmare!
Yes, they really can be. I love that it is spring free too. So much safer.
I really wish that I could get my boys a trampoline. We had one when I lived in NC but when I moved back to Texas, I had to give it up. I didn’t have a backyard for a very long time. Jumping on the trampoline with the sprinkler one was one of my favorite memories growing up.
Awww, they really do make for great memories. Maybe sometime soon?
So fun! We have a trampoline and my daughter loves to be on it. She can do some crazy tricks now.
I love seeing them do tricks!
The trampoline with a basketball looks awesome! I could totally stay active with that in our backyard! I hope you have a wonderful summer!
It is so much fun! Likewise, hope your summer is great!
I used to love the trampoline when i was younger. Have not been on one for a long time. Sounds like I should go on it again as it seems to be good exercise.
Yes, you totally have to. I had not been on in a long time but, I love it now!
My kids would go crazy over a trampoline. They love to jump around and this is a great excuse to jump even more.
Yes, it is a great excuse for sure!
I love a good trampoline, this is super cool!
Why, thanks!
How fun is this?! I love all the family activities you have on here! Keep jumping!!
Thanks! You have to get creative. We hope we can keep jumping until late Fall.
What a great cause! My kids love the trampoline and it really gets them otside and moving. My tween son and his friends travel from house to house jumping on each others trampolines for hours.
Haha, now THAT is fun!
Your girls sure were having fun! My son joined a bounce contest in a party one time and he had a blast. Yes, I think having a trampoline is a good way to stay active.
That is awesome! It really is a great way to stay active for sure.
I do love the trampoline though I have to admit I’m a lot more cautious on them than I used to be
I am with you on that but, this one luckily have no springs. So I feel safe!
I haven’t been on a trampoline in ages. I remember having so much fun on them, this really takes me back!
I have not been on in a long time and the Springfree makes me feel safe. LOL. I always worried about the springs.
My kids have a trampoline but don’t play on it as much as I would like them lol. I’ll have to try the yoga and sprinklers trick with them.
They will love it!
Wow – your daughters are amazing on the trampoline! Maybe they are the next Rosie MacClellans!
Thanks so much, you are very sweet! They do love it!
I remember putting soap on our trampoline and going crazy when I was little. Broke a couple of bones though! haha!
Oh no!
I had no idea that trampolines were so helpful for those suffering from cystic fibrosis, I too have lung issues but not CF, I will have to try out some trampoline time!
Yes, it is also a fun exercise too. I have lung issues too, so it has been fun.
My granddaughter has a trampoline and the fun is endless.!
It sure is! My kids are out there jumping around every single day!
