5 Things You Should Have In Your Bedroom To Keep It Tidy

Sometimes, keeping our bedroom tidy, uncluttered, and sleep-friendly can be very difficult. Especially if you have a very busy lifestyle with little time to clean up every day.

The thing is, no matter the kind of life you live, your bedroom should be that one place where you can escape from the rest of the world.

An oasis where you can find rest and have peace of mind – a sanctuary if you like.

You can’t really do that if you come home to a stuffy bedroom in complete disarray.

Let’s take a look at some things you should have in your bedroom to help make it a sanctuary.

Wall Shelf

Wall shelves are amazing for keeping your bedroom (and any other room) organized and tidy. When it comes to bills and paperwork, it is best to leave them outside the bedroom area.

Adding few books you love reading, and a touch of greenery will change the ambiance of your bedroom and give it life.

You can install a wall shelf on either side of your bed to make them easily accessible.

However, it is a bad idea to put it just above the bed, as doing so will increase the risk of stuff falling on your bed, or worse, on your head.

Improvised Storage Under the Bed

For most people, one of the most culprit areas in the bedroom is the same. When it comes to clutter and untidiness, it is under the bed.

It’s easy just to shove stuff you don’t want to see under the bed. The thing is, you will only be inviting dirt and even insects into your living space.

Under-bed storage is not a bad idea. But it needs to be done in a neat and uncluttered way. One of the best ways of organizing stuff under your bed is by using boxes, and plastic containers.

Even drawers that are small enough to fit right under the bed.

For most people, the space under the bed should be kept free and clear. Though, if you’re running out of space, it is not a bad idea to make use of this space. In an organized way, that is.

A Tray or a Bowl

Sometimes one-off items such as watches, earrings, tiny perfume bottles, etc. contribute to the untidiness and clutter in the bedroom.

Aside from trays and bowls, you can also use a simple storage basket. Pen holders work for tiny items.

Plastic Containers in the Closet

We have already mentioned how you can make use of a plastic container under the bed. If you have a small closet, then you’ll appreciate how crucial it is to keep the place organized and decluttered. Especially if you don’t have the luxury of putting anything on the shelf.

One effective thing you can do is make maximum use of the small floor space available in your closet by arranging plastic containers there.

These containers should only contain the stuff you do not use on a daily basis. You can also add a fabric-friendly container for your clean bedsheets. You can clean the bedsheets with a fabric shaver to prevent the possibility of pilling sheets.

Hangers that can carry more than one article of clothing will help you save space.

Laundry Basket

Make sure you place a laundry basket in your room. Most clutter that is caused in the bedroom is as a result of dirty clothes where they are not supposed to be.

Although we have mentioned a laundry basket, it does not mean you should necessarily opt for a hamper. There are different kinds of unique and stylish laundry bins, containers, and baskets to choose from.

You can opt for one that matches the interior decor of your bedroom.

But that’s not all; you should make a deliberate effort to regularly declutter your bedroom space.
