Massachusetts: Get Outdoors & Get Active and Discover #XploreMass
Massachusetts.
A gem to be discovered.
You may have read in my previous posts about the wonderful summer festivals in Massachusetts and all about the deep and rich culture and arts that any aficionado can indulge in and now, I am going to show you a glimpse of what this state can offer the adventurer of all calibers.
Be Adventurous.
When we travel, it is mostly with the girls, we seldom travel without them. But, we definitely make sure to book separate vacations to rekindle our relationship and to keep it fresh. We both are adventurers at heart and we are willing to try anything at least once. So, when a state offers both travel for couples and families, we make it a point to add it to our list.
Urban AdvenTours
Situated at Atlantic Avenue in the heart of Boston, Urban AdvenTours gives travelers the chance to experience the city in a unique way. Urban AdvenTours offers guided bike tours of Boston, leaving daily at 10:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Three different tours, one of which departs at night, highlight some of the city’s best-known landmarks, including Fenway Park, Boston Harbor and Beacon Hill. Urban AdvenTours’ bike shop provides a variety of cycling options that can equip bikers of any level.
What I love about Massachusetts is that it offers a lot of activities that Hubby and I can enjoy together. We definitely would take part in more zip lining, white water rafting and guided bike tours, all in which is offered in various places throughout the state. Even though biking is sort of out of my comfort zone, I think what the Urban AdvenTours offers is worthy of stepping out of the box.
Be Adventurous.
Both Hubby and I have zip lined and it was definitely a thrill. If you’re into sports or activities that gets your adrenaline pumping, Massachusetts has a lot in store for you.
Skydive Pepperell
This excursion in the Greater Merrimack Valley is for true adventurers, not the faint of heart. Skydive Peperrell offers tandem skydiving, with 60 seconds of free-fall during a jump that lasts five to seven minutes. On average, skydivers plummet at 120 m.p.h. So, for anyone seeking a rush, Skydive Pepperell is the right choice. Transportation is available, as Skydive Pepperell provides free rides to and from Exit 8’s Boston Express Bus terminal.
Bring the Family.
There is nothing like observing nature and really taking in the beauty that it offers. Our girls absolutely love going to the beach to explore the shores, go hiking and discovering new places! Massachusetts has an abundance of nature trails, family-friendly courses and activities.
Active by Nature
Active by Nature specializes in providing unique, scenic trips to travelers who would like to become more familiar with central Massachusetts. Active by Nature has several different tours that vary in difficulty. Adventurers move by kayak, bicycle or on foot, as the tour guides supply background information and stories. These tours pass through a number of scenic locations, including Quabbin Reservoir and the Connecticut River.
Discover.
When we visit Massachusetts, we are definitely going to add whale watching to our itinerary. We have never witnessed this and I know that my daughters would be blown away to see these gentle beasts.
In Massachusetts, one of the top-ten whale-watching spots in the world, according to the World Wildlife Fund. On a real New England whale-watching expedition, alongside onboard naturalists, you’ll head out roughly 25 miles off the coast to Stellwagen Bank and be treated to awe-inspiring sights of humpback, pilot and blue whales breaching and spouting through the deep blue Atlantic Ocean.
