Disneyland Savings No Family Can Afford To Ignore
Disneyland Savings No Family Can Afford To Ignore
If your love of all things Disney is as great as ours, you will know that finding the funds for regular trips to the Magic Kingdom can be tough. Of course, there are some savvy and straightforward strategies you can use to cut the cost of your trip if you’re in the know. Luckily, you can read all about these below.
Stay Outside of the Park
One savvy way of saving money on your Disneyland trip is to stay in accommodation that is outside of the park. Yes, I know that Disney hotels are pretty amazing, as they are themed and you get extra park hours.
However, the savings you can make from staying in one of the hotels or other accommodation options outside of the park are so big that you just can’t ignore it.
In particular, families may like to choose a stay at the Howard Johnson in Anaheim. Simply because of the excellent water park for the kids they have there.
Then there is the Best Western, which is a Disney neighbours hotel and located right across the street from the main gates.
Something that makes sneaking back if the kids forget something or need a nap as easy as it would be if you stayed in the park itself.
Of course, there are plenty of other places to choose from as well. Many of which operate free shuttle buses to and from the park that can save you a pretty penny too.
Go for Discount Tickets
Next, when it comes to spending money, the tickets to gain entry to the parks are usually one of the highest costs to deal with.
However, if you are staying outside the park, you are already a winner here. It means you can purchase your tickets from a discount outlet. Something that means you can make significant savings across your stay for the whole family.
In fact, the more days you purchase, the bigger your savings will be.
Which in my opinion, is an economically sound excuse for extending your stay and enjoying more of the magic!
After all, if you stay for longer, you won’t feel under pressure to zoom around the whole park quickly to try to fit everything in.
Don’t Get Caught Up in Souvenir Buying
Next, if you want to save money when visiting Disneyland, you really need to be disciplined when it comes to souvenirs. In fact, if you aren’t careful, you can quickly end up spending quite a lot.
Instead, it’s more economical to purchase outfits for your kids to wear before you get to Disney. Then you won’t have to pay a premium when you get there.
Also, giving the kids a budget for souvenirs can work well. As long as they realize that once they have spent it, there is no more.
Additionally, why not invest in a souvenir penny album and then press coins in the location around the park?
In fact, this can be a really nice activity for the kids and give them something to remember their trip with. You can do this without draining all of your finances.
Take Snacks and Drink Into the Park
In any Disney park, you will find so many snacks, drinks, and meal options. In fact, it’s pretty hard to avoid these. However, you don’t have to give in if you don’t want to.
It is totally okay to take bottled water and snacks into the park.
In fact, as long as you don’t have glass bottles, they will check your bags and give you the okay.
This is something that will allow you to save a fortune and ensure the kids stay hydrated and fueled up for their adventures during the day.
Ditch the Dining Options
I’m not talking about the dining plans here, which you can only get if you are staying in the park anyway. Plus, I am a HUGE supporter of the dining plans if you stay in the parks.
What I am talking about are the shows that include a meal like World of Color. You don’t actually need to buy the dining package to see this show.
In fact, you can do so for free by getting a FastPass when you arrive in the park. This will reserve your time and all you need to do is show up to be let in.
